A MONTH AGO... CRANE'S POV: Things had just gone from frying pan into fire , and it wasn't great for me because I was at the peak of on of my greatest ambitions.... Becoming Alpha king of all the realms .... being in that position would mean I get to be superior over the rest and I can also join in the heavenly 6.

The pain and sorrow of that day remained deeply etched in her memory. A moment passed and Ursa continued after she had regained her composure. "Since that day, Beta Daniel has temporarily assumed the position of Alpha. He became the interim Alpha until Alpha Oscar was mature enough to become the next Alpha. You could say he was a very happy man to see Alpha Oscar grow up strong and healthy like he is now. He—" Ursa's words stopped abruptly when she saw a tear rolling down Era's cheek. "Luna." Era blinked. She quickly wiped the tear away and tried to smile. "I never imagined that Oscar's life was like this. All this time I thought he was a reckless man who lacked patience."

I said, to bring her gaze up to me, hoping my words would calm her down. Her eyes slowly deemed down as the suppressant had finally taken over my essence, her hands reaching for my face, as she smiled, “Yes, yes he will, you just need to be the alpha son he has been looking for years now, and then he will look at me again, my son.” I gave a slow nod, with my half paint smile, as I hugged her. Right… This is my life and who I am, an omega taught to be an alpha, for the one purpose of getting my mother and her people back into my father's good grace again.

he said softly, then exited without saying anything else to me. “Okay,” I muttered to the empty space as I watched him start to jog up past the gas station down a paved road. “Will I see him again?” I murmured sullenly, and Stormy whined a little bit, then said, “I don't know. He has become Alpha and his responsibilities will be overwhelming.” Confused by the whole thing I questioned her on how he would become Alpha without passing the Academy. “Birthright trumps a degree. The Academy helps train and teach those who are already going to be in that position, both Alphas and Lunas. Plus it brings them in from across the country so

“They’re not full rogues. You have to force their submission, break them down, break their Wolf. They’re like zombies almost.” “That’s fucking awful.” I state. He pulls a face. “It is what it is. We have do things we don’t like to keep our Pack safe. To keep our Wolves safe. It’s part of being an Alpha.” “How do you become an Alpha?” I ask. He smirks. “Are you thinking of taking over?” He teases, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me down so that we’re lying on the couch now. “You know what I meant.” I say, ignoring the rush that’s already overwhelming me at being in such proximity to Cain.

“Damon, look at me.” I looked at her. Her grey eyes were wet. “He’s gone,” I said. “I know.” “I didn’t get to say goodbye.” “You did. You said everything that mattered.” I shook my head. “It wasn’t enough.” “It never is.” She pulled me into her arms. “But you have time. With me. With the pack. With the future.” “What if I’m not ready?” “Then you learn.” She pulled back. Looked at me. “That’s what being Alpha is. Learning. Growing. Becoming.”

“Great. Also, something to keep in mind, you’ll need to complete your first shift before you can be named Alpha. The night I became Alpha, I shifted at the beginning of the ceremony, went on a pack run to solidify the bond, then returned to accept the title officially. You can shift anytime before then if you’d like, but I’ve always thought the other option was the best way to deepen that pack bond. Your choice.” “Give me about a day to think about it? I’ll let you know what I decide soon.” “That works. Now, for the last item on our agenda, who will you be choosing to replace Alexi as your Beta?”

After weeks of a gruesome battle with me commanding our army, we won. And I became Alpha, with my best friend Gregory becoming Beta and Gamma.

Nobody else would've been this reckless,” The Beta wasn't normally allowed to talk however he wanted when the Alpha was speaking, but this was their family, Amber was their sister so all rules were tossed out the window. ”I know, but there was something we had to do, and if you would let us-” ”Explaining won’t take anything away from what you’ve done, anything could've happened, what is it about that part that you don't seem to be able to grasp?” Alex's eyes were glowing as well and his wolf was right at the surface but I could tell he was fighting it. His hands were shaking and his nostrils were flaring, angered wolves weren't something one would usually want to be a part of but we had no c
