Novel & Cerita Bed Time Story For Adults

I responded with a simple "OK." By the time the kids and I finished our baths, it was already nighttime. I decided to order takeout for dinner. I settled onto the edge of Zenith's bed, with both kids snuggling close. "Alright, here we go," I began, letting my voice carry the comforting rhythm of a bedtime story.

I said, "Like we've said. When what they're doing is forbidden, it makes the story even better." "Right," Jennifer said. She was already engrossed in another story. My phone buzzed a moment later. Another brother/sister tale. For a moment, I paused. Was this really appropriate? Had we crossed the line? Five minutes later, I was too busy reading the story to care. *

We don’t talk about amounts in front of her. But she knows, in her small way, that our family doesn’t just live off stories; we pay some of them forward. Eventually, bedtime wins. Dante takes her upstairs, narrating some ridiculous story about a dino‑submarine and a princess with a guitar. I close my laptop, rinse the bowl, and wipe a smear of cheese off the marble. Mundane motions. Miraculous, if I think about the girl I used to be. I lean against the counter and stare out the window at the dark curve of the garden.

Ariane’s POV As the night grew late, I tucked them into bed. Before they fell asleep, they asked for a story. I sat on the edge of their bed, reading tales of adventure filled with courage and friendship. With every word, I hoped they could feel the same spirit—the spirit to face the world with their heads held high.

"You know the rules. Bedtime is bedtime. And besides, they probably want to have some grown-up talk." "What do grown-ups talk about?" I think for a second, then grin down at him. "Taxes," I say. "And their boring, boring jobs." Brandon wrinkles his nose in distaste. "Ugh." "Yeah, it's terrible," I say with a mock sigh, "but you have to do it, when you're a grown-up. Luckily for you, you're still a kid. So we don't have to talk about mortgages, and instead, I get to tell you a bedtime story. How's that sound?"

The next day at work felt like absolute torture. I was the manager of Velvet Desires, an upscale adult store located in a quiet corner of the city. We sold high-end toys, luxurious lingerie, premium lubes, and everything a woman could possibly want to explore her deepest fantasies. Normally I loved my job. I helped shy customers find their first vibrator, recommended the perfect bullet for discreet public play, and smiled through awkward conversations with complete confidence. Today, however, I could barely concentrate on anything.

I stared at Liam and my lips curved into a smile. " I promise you that everything is going to be fine really soon. What about I tell you a bedtime story?" I suggested, trying my best to cheer him up. " Yes! I would like you to tell me a bedtime story. I always listen to mommy's old same story every single night." Liam's eyes sparkled and I couldn't help it but smile. He looked so happy as though he wasn't sad just a few minutes ago. He laid back on the bed and I began to tell him one of the stories that my mother used to tell me when I was little. I watched as he slowly drifted into a deep slumber with a smile on his face and my heart warmed up.

Rory warned angrily, which made Tinsley nod innocently. "I'm sorry, ma'am," Tinsley said with a slight chuckle, and before she could settle in her seat, six beautiful eyes stared at her. "Mom. Read me a bedtime story." Ariel demanded. "Mom, I want to listen to a bedtime story too," Mason said while stretching his hand for Tinsley to carry him. "Mom, I also want to…" Jason came to a stop when he realized that adults should read bedtime stories themselves and not the mom. With that thought, he immediately returned to the room with a pout.

Her eyelids grew heavier until she finally allowed herself to be tucked into bed. “Story, Mommy?” “Which one would you like?” I perched on the edge of her bed, stroking her hair. “The princess wolf,” she mumbled, eyelids fluttering. I began the familiar tale, watching as Debbie fought valiantly against sleep. By the third page, she had lost the battle, her breathing deep and even. I leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead before standing. Edward waited by the door, watching us with an expression I couldn’t quite decipher. We slipped out of the room, leaving the door slightly ajar as Debbie preferred.

Then, I lay beside him once he was fully settled and comfortable. “Mommy, tell me a bedtime story,” “Now?” “Yes. It will help me sleep faster. Also, nobody has told me bedtime stories since you left…” ‘since I left to prison…’ I wanted to say it out loud but I didn’t. The tears I’d been holding accidentally fell out of my eye, and I sniffed discreetly. “Of course.” I cleared my throat and began. “Story, story, story time. There was a far, far away land, and a King ruled a nation known as Anthill, filled with so many people who called themselves Anthillians.”
