"The astronaut is standing in the space station. Outside the window, he sees the limitless expanse of space. Then, suddenly, hears the sound of someone knocking on the window—" "It's a ghost! A ghost! The ghost is outside the window, right?!"

“We’ll stay until you fall asleep.” Liam lies back down, his little hand reaching out to grab mine. I sit on his other side, smoothing the blanket over him. “Daddy, tell me a story,” he mumbles, his voice already heavy with sleep. Jason chuckles softly, leaning down. “Once upon a time, there was a brave little wolf who loved his Mommy and Daddy very much but was scared to sleep alone in his bed...” By the time Jason finishes the short tale, Liam is breathing evenly, lost in dreams. Jason glances at me, his voice barely above a whisper. “He’s out.”

she said solemnly, sitting on the edge of his bed. “I can’t sleep,” he whispered, clutching his blanket. Fear was written all over his small face. “Why?” she asked gently. “Why? Did something scare you?” He sat upright, folding his thin arms across his chest. “I… I’m scared of nightmares,” he said frantically. “Nightmares? Since when, Johnny?” Alicia asked, brushing his hair. “Since I watched The Shinning.” “Why did you watch that? I thought I warned you about horror movies, especially at night,” she scolded softly.“Where was your nanny? She’s supposed to censor you.”

The restaurant usually opens by 7:30AM, it would be a very long time but I have no choice. I heard a slight movement, I grew scared, I thought this place was unnoticeable, the movement was getting closer....what could be moving at this time of the night, no scrap that, this time of the day. It got closer, oh god please save me.... "Are you awake"I heard Miss Lauretta's voice, I heaved a sigh of relief. And with that, they left the room, leaving behind the peaceful slumber of their little mommy's boy, surrounded by dreams sparked by their whimsical bedtime tales.

Carina solemnly said. "Are you worried about Lona's warning?" "Uhuh. I also keep getting nightmares these days." She closes her eyes. The vivid images of her nightmares flashed by her mind. A dark and tall shadow is creeping out from under her bed. It's slowly approached her with a wide grin on its smoldered face. Its nails are long and sharp. Carina trembled in fright as she remembers its dangerous glints, full of vengeance and malice towards her. That shadow tried to touch her stomach while cackling boisterous laughter. Its laughter resounding in her dim-lit room, and Carina jolted up from her sleep, screaming in horror and fear.

I cleared. "I am wondering." I chuckled nervously. "I wondered the same when my father told me about it, I was nine, I couldn't sleep then," "Haha, you were scared, I never get to hear one you know. Some of these horror books were forbidden by my parents. Instead, they would read to me moonlight stories, fairy princesses and all." "I doubt you look anything like a princess, you lack etiquette." "That's a rude way to speak to a lady." "My apologies."

"Let me read you a bedtime story." Knowing he might feel lonely in a new place, I picked up the storybook he'd brought. "Which story would you like tonight?" "The Magic Academy." Ian scooted over to make room for me. I lay down beside him and began reading. Tired from playing, his eyes started drooping halfway through. I softened my voice, and soon heard steady breathing beside me. I closed the book and started to get up. Ian rolled over and hugged my arm. I froze, afraid of waking him.

Please, let me sleep here. She stared at him with her big doe eyes, pleading. Travis Blake had a headache. “Can you stop being like this tonight?” Hailey replied, “You’re the one who scared me! You took me to a cemetery, said there was something behind me, and even told Katie to tell me ghost stories! I know what you’re doing, you did all this on purpose. You know Katie likes horror movies, and you know she’s been using your cinema room to watch flicks lately. So that’s why you asked her to do it.”

But still, my eyelids are absolutely reluctant to close. As I lay there staring blankly at the ceiling, I suddenly remembered Javier’s collection of horror books. That’s right. A while back, I’d idly picked up one of his scary stories. Since I’m actually a scaredy-cat, every time I read one of those horror stories, I’d immediately be scared out of my wits and end up falling asleep from emotional exhaustion.
