Novel & Cerita Before I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Another yawn slips out, and I decide it's time to call it a night. “Don’t forget to put the pillows up,” I mumble, just before sleep finally takes over.

Maybe, just maybe, she'll help me find the freedom I’ve been craving. As I lay in bed, my hands and feet crossed, staring up at the ceiling, I was too excited to even think about falling asleep. The anticipation of seeing Mia tomorrow kept me wide awake. I decided to try calming my restless mind with some soft instrumental music, hoping it would help me drift off. After a few minutes, the soothing melodies began to settle my thoughts, and soon, I felt my eyelids grow heavy. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep, the music still playing softly in my ears, the headphones still in place, as I slipped into a peaceful, dream-filled rest.

And that’s where their downfall always begins. I blew out the candle beside my bed, the flame flickering before darkness swallowed it. The night settled heavy, but my heart felt lighter. I lay down slowly, whispering one last time into the dark— “Soon.”

She is also boiling some water which I think she is going to use for making her coffee since there is an open sachet of coffee near her. "Can I sleep again?" I asked. "Of course, you can. Besides, it is still early. You still need to take some rest." Her answer is enough to know that she is letting me to go back to sleep. Without any word, I walk to my room. I locked it first before getting my phone and earphone. I lay down on my bed as I search for the playlist that I like. It's my hobby to have my playlist before I sleep. Music is a great thing that helps me when I am sleeping, especially the lullaby or at least the songs with soft tone. Those are helping me to get back to sleep faster.

I freshened up and changed into comfortable clothes. Finally, I lay down on the bed. Before I closed my eyes, I took a moment to pray, asking for forgiveness and expressing gratitude for all the blessings I had received.

We lay entwined in each other, each trying to catch our breath as sleep eventually pulls us under. My last thought before I fall asleep is that I don’t think anything has ever felt this perfect.

The last thing I want is to set off another panic attack. "Good night little guy." I said before turning and walking back to the chaise. I laid there, waiting until I knew he was asleep before I allowed myself to fall asleep.

I turned off my laptop, placed it on the side table, and lay back down. “I’ll catch you two eventually!” I said before closing my eyes.

Sleep aid. Normally, I never take anything stronger than ibuprofen. But after everything recently? After the nightmares? After the panic? I don’t trust myself being trapped awake on a plane for seven hours with nowhere to go, especially not after the kidnapping. Especially not in an enclosed space. I stare at the packet for a second before quietly slipping one pill into my mouth and washing it down with some water. Hopefully, this will help me relax. Help me sleep. Help me not to think. My phone buzzes just before I put it on flight mode.

I know I shouldn't but I can't help but worry. " Oh well..." I breathed out, getting under the covers. " There's nothing I can for now but sleep and hope tomorrow will be better. Goodnight baby." I whispered, pulling the covers up and settling in my pillow. Closing my eyes, I drifted off to sleep. . . .
