Before We Were US
Noah chuckled quietly beside me, his fingers sliding down to loop through mine, his thumb rubbing small circles against the back of my hand.
Through the shouting, the flying caps, and the absolute chaos of our friends bickering in front of us, Noah leaned down, his breath warm against my ear.
"So..."
I looked up at him, my eyes bright, the laughter still bubbling in my throat. "So?"
"We’re officially adults."
"Barely," I reminded him.
"Yeah." Noah nodded, his voice dropping into something softer, completely tuning out the noise of the stadium around us. He looked down at our joined fingers, then back into my eyes. "Ready for whatever comes next?"
