Bianca nods positively, weeping within her as she strode to the bathroom. Immediately she rushed into her bathroom, moved below the shower, and twisted the shift knob. Waterfalls on her hair as she sighs, uncontrollably bursting into tears again. She couldn't control that anger, she could only transform it into tears. Draining her clothing, she squats on the bathroom floor, burying her head in between her lips as she cried out her flaming anger. Shivering and quivering as every drop of water comes in contact with her body. “Why crying?” A masculine voice echoed in the bathroom.

I placed my bent elbow on the mattress, rested my head on my arm and sobbed my eyes out as I would when crying on Nana's shoulders. My shoulders shook violently from crying. I thought Nana had heard my sobs and had come to comfort me when I felt a hand rest on my shaking shoulder. Tears streamed down Brenda’s face, her body trembling as she fought to hold herself together. Carla hurried toward her friend, wrapping her arms around Brenda in a tight embrace. The warmth of Carla’s touch seemed to offer a fleeting solace amidst the suffocating sorrow that surrounded them. CARL Jade burst into tears the moment I finished speaking. The loud, choking sobs tore out of her throat and filled the quiet rooftop patio. Her shoulders shook violently as she covered her face with both hands. Tears streamed down her cheeks and soaked into the collar of her clothes and her whole body trembled with the force of the pain I had just dropped on her. I stood there frozen, watching her break down right in front of me. Seeing Jade cry so much made something inside my chest crack open.

The last two remaining dark benders were practically erased from the face of the earth, meaning everything she was learning was either by sheer luck or instinct. She tried hard not to cry, but she couldn’t hold it in any longer. She cried herself to exhaustion. She shed the act she was putting on of being a strong fierce leader and allowed herself to feel vulnerable for once, to be a young adult girl in a cruel world. The rest of her fellow state guards in her living room could hear her crying, but they all put themselves in her shoes and knew deep in their hearts what she was going through. They would have done the same, take a break and let it all out.
