Until death, chapter 24 Theme: Tomorrow is infinite. "He doesn't have the right to your time," the professor said to me. She was the one that blocked the dead blow meant for General Zod. "You have to leave now, and don't forget what I told you." She whispered it again. "Why can't you let me finish him once and for all?" I said with resentment in my voice. "He has caused me more trouble than you can ever imagine, and I promised to send his head back to the veiled man as a gift." I snarled in rage.

I returned to my room to freshen up. It’s been a couple of days since Benjamin texted me. We've postponed meeting for a while but today was another day and I was free to meet him. I cannot say what he was planning but it would not go anywhere. He must have figured out Thompson was dead. His lifeline was cut off. There was no reason to push himself further into an abyss. I got into the bathroom and just as I got under the drizzle of the shower, the door opened. I gasped, pulling the curtains.

He stated. "You're right, this must really be a blessing, the bastard wasn't even mine and I..." He paused his pupils moved at every corner of his sclera. "I lost my only child, that's if Sarah was even my child. You know, it was very suspicious that she found it easy to accept Sarah's suicide as a...." Benjamin paused realising he had said too much about Sarah's demise. He went timid acting like he didn't disown his own daughter when she was framed for attempted murder. I initially passed him my glass as he watched me, his eyes were curious and a bit stunned.

“She passed away. Please, I need you.” A lump tightened in Benjamim’s throat. He ended the call and quickly left the office. He found Antonella in the bedroom, still talking about how wonderful the day they’d spent together had been, but her words were cut off by his. “I need to go,” he said, changing clothes without meeting her eyes. “Another meeting?” Benjamim’s chest tightened. He couldn’t tell her the truth, not now. “Did something happen at the company?” “I promise I’ll tell you everything later,” he said, finishing dressing and approaching her. “A dear friend has just passed away. I won’t be long.”

By the time he returned, the company had already gone bankrupt, and he was buried in massive debt. During that time, he kept sending me messages from a new number, full of remorse. "I regret it all now, Giselle. If I hadn't favored her so much, I wouldn't have ended up like this. If I could start over, I would treat you with everything I have. Chelsea ruined my whole life…" I didn't respond. I simply treated them like spam messages and ignored them completely. After that, Benjamin, in a fit of rage, went looking for Chelsea, blaming her for everything that had gone wrong. He brought gasoline to her house, set it on fire, and ended up dying together with her.

Even if she died, as long as her daughter live peacefully, she did not really care. Anastasia clicked her tongue upon seeing Lorraine close her eyes. It was as if she was punching a cotton candy—it did not make her release her bubbling frustration. She wanted to lash out, but she could not risk opening the cage. Ben, the one who had helped her transport the beta’s so-called corpse, was already dead—stabbed in the back by Diana herself. Without Ben, she only got herself. Biting her lower lip, she turned around with her departing words.

Richard's POV: I watched as Kevin storms out of the coffee shop, Jennifer looks at the place he seated a while ago. Ben walked towards me . He is worried about his cousins. Everytime Ben offers to help, Jennifer pushes him away and others for that matter. I know it's about her elder brother death. Kayden Giamatti passed away four years ago. Everybody wants to know what happened to him. His parents covered his death so that paparazzi and the police noone know what happened. Ben knows but she didn't tell anyone. As for Jennifer , she gets angry and lashes out then broke down whenever it was brought up .

"So Trenton was taking a bath, while Mrs. Zane was in the kitchen," Stella narrowed her eyes at that thought.

Pov Samantha **** The click of the lock reverberated through the penthouse, a cold, final sound that sealed my fate. Benjamin was gone. Not just out, but gone, taking his suit jacket, his overnight bag, and every last shred of professional composure with him. His final words accusing me of being the most dangerous part of his life stung worse than any of Sophia’s threats or Sebastian's drunken rage.
