Charlie Benji’s house wasn’t really what I expected. Although I didn’t really know what to expect. He had an unreadable air about him when it came to trying to figure out the more personal details about his life. He didn’t behave like a street racer or conform to what my idea was of a man who spent his time participating in an illegal underground racing ring in New York City. He ran a shelter for troubled youths for crying out loud.

Benji turned to look at me as we started to walk into the school, his eyes narrowed on me. "Yeah. Arte Jones. She's the mystery I've been trying to figure out since I've known her. But a friendly warning, she has a boyfriend. Cole Bianchi, Captain of the football team," Benji warned me, his eyes still narrowed on me.

He smiled at his wife, patted his children on the head, and took a deep breath. “Oh… I think Don Levi needs me. I’ll be back soon,” he kissed his wife and children on the forehead before leaving the house and following Levi's men to an abandoned warehouse. Benji felt nervous and scared as they arrived at the warehouse. He only did it for the money. Levi’s pay was meager, so he did what he had to do for his family. He reluctantly accepted Levi’s orders for the sake of his family. “Benji!” Levi greeted him cheerfully as he sat on the sofa, drinking alcohol.

"I didn't want to hope." Walking forward, I held my hand out to him and swallowed my anxiety. "I'm Ezra Reinhardt." The other necromancer moved slowly, closing the distance to take my hand in a firm grip. "Benji," he said, tears shining in his eyes. "Uh, Benjamin Foster, but everyone calls me Benji. Ben walked me home in order for us to have lunch together as I clutched our newly gifted artwork for the pack refrigerator. "Whats Sebastian's story?" I asked, thinking of the little boy bundled in my arms soaking my Luna aura for comfort. "His father was a warrior he was killed in duty before he was born. He lived with his grandparents and mother. Her name was Becky." Ben said as he paused. "Becky was one of the first Bear shifters killed by the hunters a few months ago. She was visiting a spot in the woods where she and her mate used to go in her bear form. The hunters spotted her and killed her." he replied.
