I questioned, looking at Benji as if he had the answer to my situation. My best friend sighed, shaking his head. "Well, whatever happened, Arte Jones is going to make your life hell, my friend" I didn't care. "Arte Jones?" I asked, my heart thumping heavily in my chest. Benji turned to look at me as we started to walk into the school, his eyes narrowed on me. "Yeah. Arte Jones. She's the mystery I've been trying to figure out since I've known her. But a friendly warning, she has a boyfriend. Cole Bianchi, Captain of the football team," Benji warned me, his eyes still narrowed on me.

“This will hit differently.” He uncorked it and poured a bit into my glass. I coughed after the first gulp; the fiery liquor went down harshly, burning my throat and setting my chest on fire. “What is this shit?” “Emberston Whiskey,” Benji grinned proudly. “Mad shit. My very own concoction.” “Get off this stuff.” I angled my head at him. “Let tonight be the last night you drink this.” Benji sighed, and his temperament shifted into sadness. “Jakub left with Mercedes and an Alpha. If I have to think too hard about what they might be doing, I might kill somebody.” He held the glass a little higher, stirring it a bit. “This helps, Alpha.”

I'm not sure exactly what I'm expecting when I open the door. But, one thing I definitely wasn't expecting, was a shirtless Benji to be greeting me.
