She nodded knowingly once I was done. “You have heard of berserkers right?” “The mad Viking warriors who fought without fears and from which the work berserk comes from?” “More or less,” she said. “There are a few ways to make a berserker, one includes a potion including hallucinogenic and painkillers, but there are other ways. One is to summon the spirit of a predator, often bears or wolves, in a form of controlled possession. The spirits heighten stamina, pushes limits and the pain threshold too. Xiao Long also nodded at Huo Yan's words, but he also disagreed with him at the same time, the Berserk state of a Level 5 Demonic Beast was not that simple. The Berserk state, was an ability that Demonic Beasts could release when they had peaked emotions. This state allows their strength to double. But this ability is quite risky because when in this state, Demonic Beasts will just be like crazy animals that attack whatever is around them. The Berserk that a Level 5 Demonic Beast has is indeed different from that of a Level 4 Demonic Beast and below. Level 5 Demonic Beasts were at the level of Spirit Manifestation Cultivators. Stuart's eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was terrifyingly cold. Madison flinched, and the guardian angel figurine fell from her hand and shattered into pieces upon hitting the floor. I was absolutely enraged at the sight of this. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" Tears welled up in Madison's eyes as she waved her hands frantically. "Stuart, I was startled by Veronica. I'll apologize." But Stuart shielded her behind him without hesitation. "It's just a cheap ceramic doll. You don't need to apologize."

Before I slipped into the darkness, the last thing I heard was his especially resolute voice. "Don't be scared, Bryce. I'm here. This time, I'll make sure they pay the price!" … The hospital room smelled of antiseptic as the blood from the transfusion bag slowly flowed into my veins. I looked out at the gray, overcast sky outside the window, my heart feeling even colder than my body.

Every time the crowd roared, his shoulders jerked—a systemic startle response he couldn't suppress. "They want his head," Viggo rumbled beside me. The Berserker’s jaw was clenched so hard the tendons in his neck corded. He leaned his weight on his hammer, his muscles locked in a high-tension state. His scent was a thick, aggressive musk that made my own nostrils flare. "If we give it to them, they will cheer. If we don't... they might riot."

Kate cackles crazily before shaking her head. “You have no idea the deep shit we’re in don’t you? ” She scoffs while I glance around at every stomp that brings him closer. “There’s no cure, no normal. He’s a berserker. It’s in his blood, end of story, so either we find a way to save our sorry asses or we’re killed. End of story.” “But Jax-” Kate grips me by the front of my blouse pulling me upwards.

had been sniffing about in the area and wondered if they were just passing through. Gunner had recalled running into them a while back, he had not liked the look of the group who had apparently taken on another chapter during their expansion runs. The Howler M.C. and The Alpha Dog M.C. had been more or less even in terms of their true nature. Jake Gladstone was the club president and like Brick, he had wanted to break away from the more traditional wolfpack way of living. He gathered his own band of rabble-rousers and took off for longer sunsets and an endless trail much as Brick did but he was of a different sort given to high terrorism for sport despite those he had in his company not know

“The vampire in the woods said something about that. Like the vikings?” "That's where the term comes from, yes. Many of them were among our kind as well, although we've existed in most cultures around the world for as long as anyone can recall. A berserker is a very special type of werewolf that comes around once, maybe twice in each generation. He or she is capable of entering into an altered state while engaged in battle. The wolf spirit takes over completely and the thirst for blood outweighs all else." She swallowed hard. "That's what happened? That's why he's gone, because he's off killing people?”

Aegeus's eyes flashed with inspiration. His mind was a mess and his reasoning was clouded, yet he could feel the spirit of war bubbling within him. His power as a Berserker filled his bones with strength and made them tougher than the most precious of stones. His muscles were akin to the thick hide of an Ascension Beast - a beast of divinity - and the blood that run through his veins were as precious as gold. The rubies lodged within his eye sockets gleamed as a great thirst for battle filled his bones. His arms ached, but he was a Body Wielder! Pain, persistence and endurance were his bread and butter! Unless his bones were crushed to dust and his muscles torn to bits, he would still fight!
