They barely scratch the surface of the storm that is Zade.
David studies me carefully, as if trying to read beyond my words. “One last thing,” he says softly. “You need to open up to them about your father. I know you said he was toxic, that he hurt your family, but that connection…well, it’s still there, isn’t it? Ignoring that part of you only builds walls, walls that keep others out. That’s a conversation they need to understand too.”
He offers me a small, reassuring smile, and I feel the prick of tears behind my eyes. I sip my coffee, breathing in the warmth, as his words settle over me. He’s right.
