Design of Fate

Design of Fate

The book opened on its own and pages quickly flipped until the desired page was found. Then she passed it over to me. The book was very old, ancient even, but was protected from deterioration by magic. It was not written in English, but I was still able to understand it somehow. I would question that part later on. ‘Energy Cage for Gods and DemiGods’ was the title of it.

I love all of the books in the Fated universe. I am loving this sequel even more than I loved 'His Hunt For Redemption'. Jackson and Zeus are perfect for Imeela. I also love all of the twists and turns when it comes to dealing with the Precoza coven. I can't wait for Kalen's story next.

The Girl Who Unknowingly Became Harem Queen

she told him before writing down his results, calling the next name that was on the list. For the next couple of minutes, Maria watched as different students got called up and discovered the type of magic they each wielded. After the boy had left, a girl got her name called and made her way to the front; after placing her hand on the ball, a blast of wind blew in her face. "Wind Magic. A type of magic which gives its user the ability to manipulate the air and wind currents around them," explained Ms. Nancy as next to come forward shocked Maria, unaware that she shared the same class with the Crown Prince Alan who detested her.

The Vampire and the Mage

The Vampire and the Mage

They can only do things like make a little fire, fix a broken glass, or something not very substantial. However, in my case I cannot do any of that. I tried many times to do something out of mage paper but I just couldn't. Only ten percent of the population in Eravia can't perform even a simple sorcery out of mage paper—the most basic sorcery that a pure blooded mage can do, and I'm part of it. Fortunately, through years of practice, I've learned how to dance in the water's surface, a dancing trick Mistress Ursula had taught me. Well, at least I finally got something I can do as a mage, right?

The Journey of The Wind Magical Girl

The Journey of The Wind Magical Girl

BANGG Colorful rays of various elements shot out from their weapons and aimed at Rikka, but it was too late. “Salarhonsu!!” Rikka finishes her incantation. “Eat this.” The woman pulled her left hand and then slammed it on the magic circle. Miraculously, about 50 white magic hands suddenly appeared from the magic circle and shot out, hitting the various elemental magic attacks and making them disappear without a trace. “What?” The magic hand continued to extend until it penetrated the magical girls, including the leader. “What the-“ Right after the white hand hit them, the magical girls suddenly fell like dry leaves falling to the ground. They all felt with empty eyes and didn't move an inch.

The Mage's Heart

The Mage's Heart

“I would sense the magic if it were so.” I dismounted and unsaddled Coryfe as the mage sat on one of the branches of the fallen tree and drew from a bag he wore under his cloak, a small book, bound in leather, with curls of metal protecting the corners and clasping the covers shut. “We need a fire,” he said to me, his fingers stroking the cover reverently. There was no writing on the cover or binding, but I could see something had been embossed into the leather. Perhaps the embossing was the shadow of writing that had once been picked out with ink, but which time had faded or flaked away.

A brilliant adult fairy tale! Dark romance, fairies, sirens, mages, dragons, dark elves, mermaids, trolls, imps, spells, and quests. I loved it, an action packed adventure from beginning to end. Folk lore and fae stories truly came alive, I fell in love with the characters and got lost in the story.

The Cursed Alpha And His Rejected Bride

The Cursed Alpha And His Rejected Bride

He turned the book toward me, pointing to an old, jagged diagram outlined in blood-red ink. “The Ember Surge. It’s ancient power amplification magic. Only lasts for about ten minutes… but in that time, she’d be unstoppable.” I stared at the page. “Unstable’s the better word,” I muttered. “This isn’t a joke, Muzan. Her body isn’t ready for that much power.” “She’s stronger than you think.” “She’s still mortal,” I snapped. “What’s that?” Diana had dropped her sword, and I hadn’t even noticed. “Close your eyes,” Muzan said simply. “Close your eyes and open your mind.”

The One

The One

Maerilee The dog treat trembles in my hand, faint pulses of magic swirling around it like threads of silver. I close my eyes, focusing on the barrier I’m trying to create. The energies stretch from my fingertips, encasing the treat in an invisible shield, or at least what I hope is an invisible shield. My breath slows as I concentrate, willing the magic to hold steady. A faint hum tickles the back of my mind. My magic is attempting to do what it’s supposed to but deep down, I can feel how weak it is, how flimsy the barrier must be.

[However, even if the soldiers didn’t opened it completely, something from the inside busted the door, almost like an explosion. Luckily, the soldiers and horses weren’t harmed because of Captain Rian’s support magic, it is a thick transparent shield. The wagon was covered in a dark smoke, a mummy (human wrapped in bandage) who made the explosion has his body busted. Its body was well-planned to stick on the door of the wagon]

Frequently Asked Questions

In the world of manga, 'magic' often manifests through various intriguing synonyms, each carrying its own flavor and unique connotations. For instance, take 'jutsu' from works like 'Naruto.' While most people know it as a type of technique or skill, it adds that ninja flair to magical exploits that makes the battles feel electrifying and gritty. Then there’s 'sorcery' which pops up frequently in fantasy manga like 'Fairy Tail.' It evokes a sense of traditional spell-casting, conjuring images of wizards and magical creatures. It's a term that feels timeless, with an air of elegance attached to it.

Another term that springs to mind is 'alchemy,' vividly explored in 'Fullmetal Alchemist.' Here, it's not just magic but a science, blending the mystical with the logical. The intricacies of transmutation lead to profound themes about sacrifice, morality, and what it means to wield power. Alchemy gives a heavier, grounded feel to magical elements, as it intertwines with the characters’ emotional journeys and world-building. This interplay creates layers in storytelling that are truly compelling.

Lastly, 'the arcane' tends to pop up across various genres, especially in darker series like 'Demon Slayer.' It carries a more mysterious and ancient vibe, often associated with forbidden knowledge and long-lost practices. It's fascinating how different manga series creatively interpret magic through these varied terms, which enhances their storytelling and elevates the fantastical elements in exciting ways.
