CHAPTER 4(THE FIRST ONE)- TITTLE: Zander Mansion Soon, it's morning, and thanks to last night I had a rough sleep, and you know, when people say they woke on the wrong side of the bed, they are just trying to tell you they are mad. Well, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, like literally, I woke up on the floor and not on my bed, and I would like to know why, but unfortunately, you just can’t see in your sleep.

Third Person POV The novel was, against all odds, more genuinely interesting than Kylie had expected. The prose was sharp, understandable grammar, and the plot was especially interesting. Initially, she didn't have much faith in it, since it seemed generic and had the typical plotline of the female lead being found by her biological parents. Perhaps due to the apocalypse genre, it turned out to be an especially a refreshing read. The characters felt real. Even though some of them were evil, they were making decisions normal humans would actually make, making readers torn.

But I haven't been able to make up my mind about it yet, so I'm still on the fence. "Web novels?" Miranda repeated in surprise. "What kind of web novels?" Mindy smiled awkwardly. "Urban romance." Miranda was speechless for a while. Mindy was a published mystery novelist. Back when mystery novels had been all the craze, Mindy made her grand debut with "Murder Weapon" and sold half a million copies. Later in the same year, her follow-up thriller novel, "The Deserted School", broke her personal sales record in a very short time as well.

I don’t stop running until I slam into the glass window of my favorite comic shop. I press my palms to the glass, shaking so hard my teeth chatter. My breath fogs the window. And then I see it. The new release. Hockey Star is Obsessed With Me. The final book. It’s propped up in the display like it’s waiting just for me. I push the door open and stumble inside. The bell jingles softly above me. The clerk barely glances up. I grab the book off the shelf and drop to the floor, right there in the aisle.

The First One sat on the beach and stared at the violent waves of the ocean as he deliberated. The killings had stopped but not for long. Officer Muhammad and Maryam must die in order to protect his real identity. The trip to Lagos had been taken for the main purpose of relaxing and approaching matters from a psychological point because where violence fails, logic is born. It had not been easy approaching the men running things at work and asking for some few days off but the greatest weapon in The First One arsenal was the power of persuasion.
