the father said slowly. "So Ana and Mari..." I ventured. The mom smiled. "I'm Ana, this is Tasha, and Mari." I could sense the discomfort. "Everything okay?" I asked. "You realize we are Omegas, right?" she asked. When I glanced at her in the rearview mirror, she looked at me strange. "I'm aware," I stated. "Is that why you are so comfortable?" "Just... No one ever wants to know our names, Beta." Of course. I knew almost everyone's names, but I wasn't the Beta when they left. Ferdinand didn't associate with random omegas, so why should he or anyone know their names?

Saber says. “Thank you,” I say, turning to Javelin. “I know Raptor wanted you for his squad, but I also wanted you on my squad. Beta squad can be just as difficult and demanding as Alpha Squad in our operations, so I need someone who is powerful, resilient, and trustworthy. From everything I’ve seen in youand from everything I’ve heard about you, I think you meet those criteria. So, I’m also in agreement,” she says. I huge grin spreads across my face, one that I can’t stop.

“But I will look, and I won’t say anything untoward. All right?” “That will be all right,” she agreed, giving my hand one last squeeze before letting go. At least we could both recognize a stalemate when we reached one. I stepped to the side, allowing my mother to gather her jacket before walking off the plane. I followed her and a moment later, my beta, Bane, fell into step behind me. Both he and my chief financial officer at Silverstreak Motors, Tala, had the good manners to pretend they hadn’t witnessed any of that conversation.

FELICIA Once I had kicked alpha Brad out, I knew I had to clean up everything. I didn't want to worry Beta Andrew. And Brad wasn't worth the trouble. He was an asshole who was now blaming me for the decision he made for both of us. He didn't let me explain anything. He believed everything he was told about me. And he marked my sister right before my eyes. I was a moment close to killing myself when Beta Andrew took me under his wing.

Liam defended with a smug smirk. “Don’t call me baby girl,” Anna rolled her eyes, scoffed, and looked away with folded arms. He diverted his attention to me not minding Anna’s actions but I was amused by the whole display. “I'm Beta Liam Gibson, the Beta of this great pack, the best friend to Alpha Scott Coldstone and the only man who knows his way to your mate's heart and you are?” he stretched his arm out in a courtesy bow.

I don’t know this person, but they are obviously part of one of the council’s elite squads. “Do you know who that is?” I whisper to Zach. “Beta Squad, don’t know his name,” he says. I know Zach is vying for the Alpha Squad, especially now that Yorick has plans to join C-Squad. The Beta Squad member leads a man out of the back. Instantly, Stellan begins snarling. “You fucking asshole!” “Christer is dead and you’re on trial. I’m not going down with you. You promised no one would ever know. I’ve lost my job, and my mate is considering rejecting me because I helped you. So, fuck you!”

She was the quintessential Beta; the person I trusted the most outside of my blood family. Bruno stands next to me, both of us shaking in anger and loss as we look down on Greta’s body. “We lost Devin too.” I tell him and his head snaps up. “Sophia is too young to take the Beta position,” he says and I just nod. “I’ll figure it out. Right now, we need to help our pack.” Bruno nods and I see him putting this in its box, just as I am. “Why are they attacking us again? What is so damn special about us?” I ask the questions not really expecting an answer.

They looked okay to me. "How about you get the hell out of here Sarah. Nobody wants you here." Jacob growled glaring at her. She narrowed her eyes at him and stepped forward. "I can have you kicked out of the pack Jacob don't forget that." She hissed. "You might be boning the future Alpha. But don't forget I'm his bestfriend and I'm his beta." He smirked at a red faced Sarah. She growled again before turning on her heel and stomping away.

“I do. Fucking hell, they traded one daughter for the other. My parents have three kids and they were still able to raise us all right.” He rubbed my shoulders. “I got you. Is she really okay? I leave members of the beta squad here. The regular police won’t cut it.” I nodded along with his words recalling how rex had just made his people kill the officers to get to the current victim. My question is who would be loyal to him. They wouldn’t be. I’m missing something but I’ll handle it after i tear ava’s parents a new asshole.

“Who’s Beta Scott?” I ask him as the name sounds familiar to me. “He’s the former Beta of the Crescent Moon pack. Even though he was on the other side of the war against my pack he had morals. He didn’t believe in harming the women and children, so he assisted Baren getting my mother and me to safety. Baren and Beta Scott use to be close friends before all this went down so I am putting faith in him once again.” Caleb said as he went to the counter and poured himself a glass of bourbon. I could tell Caleb needed a drink to calm his nerves.
