“Where is our Beta?” One of the warriors replied, “Alpha, I saw Beta Lexus ran inside the Black Forest Pack Territories while we were trying to run away from it. He jumped over the fence.” Alpha Daedos’ heart beat so fast as if it was hit by something when he heard what his Beta has done. “How can he be able to come out alive at the Black Forest Pack Territory alone?” he said in a whispering tone as he slowly slumped over his Alpha’s chair. He felt so worried, a pang of guilt crept through him for failing to anticipate his Beta’s plan.

Willow Brook had served under Marcus Ryle for nearly two hundred years. She had worked hard to become his first female Beta over one hundred years ago. She was considered the pack's Alpha she-wolf until Marcus met his mate, Jamie Bostwick. Now that she has proven herself as a formidable fighter, Willow asked her Alphas for a chance to travel to several local cities to see if she could find her mate. Not all pack members were able to travel to other packs. There were various cities throughout the country that were considered neutral territories where inmates Weres could work or visit in hopes of finding their mates.

Instead, all I can do is shout at the collection of sweating, red-faced Beta’s before me, “Well then? Do we know that wolf?” They looked around, all trying to mind link until they shook their heads. Beta Jackson, a humongous figure with his white shirt on, frankly terrifying with it off, bellowed from his huge barrel-chest “well then get fucking after it then! First one to catch the interloper makes the Battalion!” I couldn’t protest, or reveal I hadn’t planned this this, not that they would have heard over the sound of ripping trousers and howling. Jaws snapping, froth flying from between their teeth, the twenty-eight candidates all sprinted into the surrounding pine forest.

Layla looks at me and growls as she turns to Riley and says, “You're not using my daughters to make a good impression on someone Riley.” He clasps his hands in front of his chest, falling to his knees as he begs, “Please, Layla, just this once.” Layla sighs as she mind-links me, “Can you come and get your Beta away from me before I kill him, and while you're at it, put him out of his misery and tell him Willow turns eighteen in a couple of weeks.” I chuckle and mind-link her back, “Why didn't you tell him that in the kitchen?”

Osiris is chuckling behind me. "Willow," Osiris buts in. "This is my Beta, Matthew. Matthew, this is my mate, Willow." "It is nice to meet you," I say so sweetly it makes me feel sick. "Nice to meet you as well," Matthew grumbles under his breath. "Willow, my love," Osiris says, and a shiver runs up my spine. "Go ahead and grab a plate of food before it is all gone. I have to speak with my Beta for a moment."

” All around me, people nod. “Say what you will about Owen Reid, he is an intelligent and capable man. He comes from a strong lineage and is a great fighter. I don’t know his chosen mate, but I know she’s also from a Beta lineage. Willow will be a great Luna,” Beta Rick says. More nods. “Should we plan a ceremony? Is she dropping out of the Program?” Gamma Linda asks, excitedly.

She did not want us to drive into the kingdom, let alone walk into the Palace, but Willow commanded her to compose herself. We entered the Palace, and Willow was the first to lead the way. She knew the place like the back of her hand, and she was leading us to King Edward's favourite lounge. While we moved, we were intercepted by Beta William, and I frowned because his father was a traitor. I guess William wasn't a traitor, and just like Mark and Aida, he must have been misguided. "Alpha Walker," he said, standing in our way and looking at Willow lustfully.

Jessica made sure to come by every day to check on her mother-in-law and allow the children to play with each other. A few months ago, Willow gave birth to a pup, a boy named Anthony, in honor of Sky's second-chance mate, and she's thriving with her mate. Willow initially struggled with the new responsibilities, but everyone's presence helped smooth the transition. In time, they chose to leave the packhouse and construct their dwelling, aspiring for a larger family and desiring personal space. Darren said to me. I knew he was really concerned about me, but he is also needed in the pack. "No, Darren, I got this. You should be home protecting our clan. That is why I am your Beta," I said to him. "Carsen, before you are my beta, you are my brother, and I always want you safe, even though you are very stubborn, and I feel like killing you at times," Darren said to me jokingly. We both laughed as happiness is free.

Willow grinned and agreed. "Then, I want Lee and Livia to be my Beta couple. They should be the betas of the Moonstone pack" Willow decreed. Fuck.
