They stopped replying. At that point, Maggie's phone rang. She hurriedly clocked out and left work. I took one last look at Zach's file and stood up to go home. In the shower, I pulled off my silk scarf and exposed the ugly, twisted scar on my neck. Morris had caused it. Ten years ago, in the spring, I couldn't reach him. Courtney had disappeared, too. I just try to keep my eyes on my schedule as if I’m tryin to memories it. “Sorry Can;t stand around talking to the likes of you. I have to go find where my first class is.” I try to walk around him once more (The key word being try). He steps into my path once again, I look at him and ask, “What the hell is your problem?” He looks as though he’s stuck in a trance, then out of nowhere he snaps out of it, to rake his eyes up and down my body. “Are you done checking me out, so I can go find my classroom?”

I hear a few chuckles as my cheeks flush. "Yes ma'am," I mumble, turning my attention back to her. She's lecturing on the novel we've just started earlier this week. I've already read this novel, 'Of Mice and Men' so I zoned out on her lecturing. Drake smirks at me before turning his head forward.

After he entered I heard singing which sounds like a song for a wedding ceremony, I feel so confused and dumbfounded as to what is going on. After waiting for a while I'm finally called inside and the doors of the church opened widely, showing a lot of familiar faces inside. When I get inside, I froze in shock. My voice failed, and I couldn’t speak as I collapsed. Someone caught me before my head connected with the ground. From the feeling, I knew it was my mate. “Please don’t leave me,” I heard a voice pleading. But I was so far gone, I didn’t know who’s voice it was.

"I thought I lost you." ****

" My vision was turning blurry. All of a sudden, my phone rang. I did not care to check who was calling. I pressed the accept button and croaked for help. The next thing I knew, I had woken up to find myself in a hospital bed. The moment I opened my eyes, Connor's face loomed over me. He clutched my hand and exclaimed, "Sydney, you're awake! I'm sorry… I'm sorry that it took me so long." It turned out Connor had been the one who had called and saved my life. Tears streamed down my face as I replied, "It's alright. Thank you, Connor."
