CHAPTER 24 Alexa's POV The next couple of days were not that bad. I did not like him yet, but I knew I was getting there. And the thought on its own scared me. I did not want to like a werewolf. The whole species of them were ruthless heart breakers and dominant males who thought a mate was supposed to be submissive. I knew he had not displayed any of those characteristics but It was only a matter of time before he finally did. He still thought I was a human. I did not have any plans of correcting that mistake any time soon anyways. I watched him stumble on his words trying to tell me what he really is.

And the similarity between them was the hatred for the werewolves who took their mother away from them. It was hard not to be distracted by so much interesting content, but finally, almost at the end, they got what they were looking for. Huge wolves formed by shadows stamped the page of the book. Kyria yawned and watched as she looked at the picture. The creatures were fierce, but they had a wise look, an ancient look. Kyria stepped away for a moment, that look gave her a shiver in the spine for some reason. "The first wolves were not divided into alphas or omegas, nor could they take human form." Nayssa began to read and Kyria leaned her head on her shoulder to see better.

But the memory of her smile stayed with me, haunting me, calling to me. Ana's P.O.V I settled into my new job at the coffee shop, trying to keep my head down and stay out of trouble. But as the days passed, I started feeling a very strong connection to Richard, the kind of connection I had never felt before, not even for Anthony. I can't concentrate on doing my job, the peaceful life with Balthazar that I'm living right now makes me feel even more guilty. I settled into a quiet corner, hoping to lose myself in the story. The book started like any other werewolf novel, talking about full moons and shifting. But then, I turned the page and my breath caught. There was a picture. Not the usual handsome man turning into a wolf, this was different. This wolf was massive with glowing red eyes and thick, dark fur. The caption underneath read, “Cursed Alphas.” It looked… powerful. Intimidating.

It just breaks my heart to see her like this. "Well, I am a Lycan, Chris and Nate are also Lycans as well. We are like you, but a little bigger.You, my little mate are what is called a werewolf shifter. To my knowledge, you are what we believe to be the very last of your kind." I hook my finger under her chin so I can look into her eyes, and slowlybrought my lips to hers. She gasped as soon as our lips touched with an explosion of sparks between us.

He found it hilarious that I was into werewolf romance novels. “So you have a thing for hot werewolf alphas?” He chuckled. “You know some of those stories are stupid, don’t you? Especially that one. What’s it called? Yeah, The Alpha’s Destiny. Werewolves don’t have powers nor do they live until they’re ten thousand. That author must be on some crack.” He shook his head. “Well, it’s better than the zombie comics you have stashed under your bed,” I retorted. “If you don’t stop making fun of my reading materials, I will show Valko your nerd stash,” I warned.

It was as if I had lost the remaining part of my soul. I had come to fully accept my fate. To accept the fact that the people I called family betrayed me and sold me off to a man rumored to be a monster. According to the rumors, Alpha Xavier was the devil himself, a man without a heart, a man who killed without remorse. He was the most powerful Alpha in the werewolf kingdom, feared and respected by all.

I stammered out, not knowing exactly how to start my explanation. "Never mind. I heard everything, so I know what the argument is all about." She said when it became apparent that I was not going to say a word. "Oh." That was the only word that came out of my mind after hearing her. "Anyways, what I wanted to discuss with you is somewhat sensitive, but I want you to listen to me with an open mind. See, Claire, you are now here with Alex, as his mate, in this werewolf world that humans thought only exist in fairy tales." She gave a dramatic pause, building my tension. "So, what I am saying is that you have to let go of all your human ties as you are now with a man who is an Alpha." She finish
