Xyla Quest saw Betty Starmount’s pretty face. Xyla immediately opened the door and stepped forward to look at Betty. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing. I just wanted to ask you if you’d come home for breakfast. I made a lot of delicious food. You didn’t pick up when I called earlier. That’s why I came over…” Betty said. Betty’s tone was as gentle as she was as a person. Although Betty didn’t have any makeup on, she was still charming.

The others started laughing again. “And where exactly did they write that you can’t teach your stepsister a very strict lesson?” Tony added with a smirk. “Y’all are idiots,” I muttered, leaning back in my chair. But annoyingly…My mind immediately betrayed me. Taylor noticed my expression instantly and started laughing harder. “Oh my God,” he said. “You’re actually thinking about it.” “I’m literally not,” I lied. “Sure,” Brian snorted. After Joshua and I got mated, Catherine and Tyler introduced us to the other Betas that were on the same ground as us on the Claiming, which changed all our fates. Sometimes she would spend hours watching someone before catching the expression on somebody's face. On the way home they stopped at a bakery, near Matt's parents’ apartment. Betty replied to me causing me to raise my eyebrows at her. "What do you mean? This is just my resting face," I replied in my defense but she just smirked at me as if I just tell her a lie. "Oh please, I know your resting face and there's just something different right now, you look mad and you keep on staring at alpha Ryker. Has he done something bad to you again or is he bullying you?" Betty asked me one question after another and at that point, I immediately stopped staring at Ryker, I didn’t even notice that I’d been staring at Ryker and I can’t believe that she noticed it too.

EROS' POV The time passed by quickly as Betty and I rummaged through my closet, looking for what I'd where out. She had gotten hungry not too long after our quest began, so I ordered a pizza and heated up some left of chicken nuggets from the fridge. "How do you live here all alone, don't you ever get bored?" Betty asked, as she dropped the large pizza box and the centre table, and sat on the rug. She folded both her legs inwards, and turned on the television.
