The Alpha’s Shadow Luna
In the empty training building behind the castle, I worked the shadows the way a swordsman practices forms, over and over, until the movements stopped feeling foreign.
The tendrils came easier each day. I could call them from my hands now without the doorway swinging fully open, could shape them, hold them, send them where I wanted. The shadow-sight sharpened. I was learning to see through darkness, to perceive the true shape of things hidden in shade, the way I’d seen Eyera’s real form in the smoke.
Cain helped. He insisted, because he wanted to keep an eye on me. But this mostly meant Cain volunteered to get knocked around.
