I didn't use the purple fire to fight. I used it to open the chip.

Pressed her silver fingernails to the wall, and, to her surprise, the Tree helped—new wood grew, forming ledges under her feet, step by step. “Stay here! Protect Hope!” June nearly barked. She climbed, faster than she’d ever moved, armor pulsing with every heartbeat, pouring strength into her body. A spider-bot spotted her. Its red eye tracked her. It leapt in with iron legs like javelins. She swung the golden key fragment. Clang! Metal struck metal. The key didn’t just cut; it dissolved the bot, turned the iron into red dust. It crumbled before it even hit the ground.

“How could I love something like you? You’re…you’re unnatural, an abomination.” Even though I can feel that his words hurt her, my mother’s expression hardens further. Sliding next to me, she lifts her hand up and produces her knife. “You may have hurt me, but I won’t let you hurt my daughter.” As soon as the words leave her lips, my father signals for his men to shoot her. Using my powers, I speed down the hallway, rip the gun from one of the men’s hands, and shoot another. Thankfully, my mother manages to disable one of the men. I have to admit, she’s an amazing fighter. Watching her kick her feet up a wall and flip behind their backs is amazing.

When you’ve hunted for the mafia, killed people they didn’t want to bloody their hands with, and taken out whole families, nothing sane remained. The little shit fired off a sloppy shot as I came at him. His movements were slow, almost clumsy - a reminder of his human frailty. And I dodged the bullet, not that it would’ve mattered much since my pain tolerance and healing ability were far above average. I sparked the hand gripping my neck and held it's head and sent high bolts of electricity to it. I detached the head and burnt it.
