The back two rows were where the jocks sit, and they were almost always called on and rarely got an answer right. Minutes later, the other wolves filed in, the stragglers making it just before the first bell rang. The school was called Wolf High, an elite school for werewolves. It was located in the town just outside three bordering packs on neutral territory, so all the young wolves from those packs went here. It made for a great opportunity to create allies and maintain a balance in the area since we wolves could see the strength each pack possesses. I had a few friends I could rely on at school, but none were in my pack.

This time I flew to Russia to check on how the clan of gray and white wolves is doing. Once upon a time, the latter were quite numerous and more developed than the former, but during a fire twenty years ago, almost half of the population died in a flock of whites, including the alpha and his family. It came as a big shock to everyone. No one really could tell anything about what happened, and how it happened. The official version spoke of an accident with fireworks during the holiday, which caused several houses to catch fire at once. The fire was not extinguished in time. The panic began.

As I explored the campus further, I stumbled upon a secluded spot beneath ancient oak trees. The moonlight painted patterns on the ground, and the distant howls of a wolf pack added an eerie soundtrack to the night. Wolves usually have gray and yellow fur, but with wolves having white, black, and red fur is very special. The black wolf that received the order to distract Windy was just a wolf with yellow fur because to distract the opponent, he disguised himself to look like Ezra.

The Leadership class, for Alphas, Lunas, Betas, or anyone who dreams of sitting with the elders and leading a pack.

I stood before the mirror, trembling. “Come out!” I screamed. My voice cracked. “Come out, damn you!” But there was no answer. “You're supposed to be my wolf companion! My protector! How could you, how could you kill him?” My breath came in ragged sobs. “You monster… You coward! Show yourself!” My wolf didn’t speak. It was like she’d buried herself deep inside me, ashamed, or worse… indifferent. I collapsed to the floor, broken and breathless, tears searing down my cheeks. I curled into myself, praying that this was all a nightmare, that I’d wake up and find my father humming in the kitchen, that the arena had never happened, that my wolf had never emerged.

He didn’t make a move to pick up the scattered papers, and neither did I. Who the fuck did he think he was? “I am not interested. Besides, Wolf Creek is a protected area, part of the reservation, and we have lived there for five generations. So, take your presentation, Mr. Lyon, and shove it!” I’ve heard enough.
