My grip on the glass loosened, and I leaned back, lips twitching into a strange smile.

“Grandfather, I need to use the restroom first.” “Go ahead. I'll wait by the elevator.” Andy hurries to the restroom, quickly relieves himself, washes his hands, and dries them before heading out. As he approaches the elevator, he meets Josh Bolton and his father, Mike Bolton. Behind them stand four guards in black suits, their bodies muscular and looking very tough. Their eyes appear cold with a strong aura of menace. “Well… Well… well… look at the vagabond, Dad.” “You'd better be quiet and stop your filthy talk, damn it.” Andy remains calm, but his words pierce sharply.

Gabe bailed before the floor came up, rolled, came up in a crouch. Andrew rushed him, snapping low. Gabe feinted, snatched the edge of a tray from the floor and frisbeed it into Andrew’s shins. Andrew cursed, pitched forward, and Gabe mule-kicked him into a stack of crates. Bottles went down like dominos, beer foam spuming. Wally finally grabbed Andrew from behind in a bear hug. “Enough, mate!”

Carllo has extra traveling tunics inside his wagon, so he leaves the washroom to walk out to the dirt lot to fetch them for my body. I start walking back toward our private room alone, but my boots stop dead in the middle of the stone corridor. Up ahead, Stella is pushing an old elder wolf named Barbara in a wooden wheelchair, with a strong warrior named Martin standing right by their shoulders. The three of them are standing near the main doors, clearly waiting for someone big to arrive. I follow their eyes down the path. A tall, massive figure is walking rapidly toward their circle. He couldn’t risk being seen there or being seen in this state of mind. Shawn came down from his room just before dinner and in the living room, he found Billy and Chris talking about Andrew's funeral and a thousand other things. He wanted to hear them talk about other topics, but for the time being, the Baldwin family was the main topic of all their days and apparently even their evenings.
