I was finally alone in this world. They wouldn't let me attend Mom's funeral. They wouldn't even let me visit her grave, so all I could do was kneel on the path we used to walk together, silently pleading for her forgiveness. I didn't dare to cry. I didn't deserve to. And I try to write everything on a note but I ran out of space so I write you a letter instead.” I say so quickly I run out of breath, I’m so nervous right now. “So sit here, get comfortable and read this. I’ll come and get you when I’m done setting up the next part of your birthday celebration.” I say leaving her in the bedroom.
