Gigi’s body stilled. A loud, rumbling, earth-shattering roar ripped from her throat, followed by a surge of golden-blue light.
The air sizzled. The temperature spiked.
The warriors around her staggered back. Their bodies seized with sudden confusion. Then panic. And screams. Piercing, agonized screams filled the forest.
One of the wolves ignited. His fur burst into flames. Fire ripped across his body, consuming him like he was nothing but dry kindling. He convulsed, writhing, twisting, dropping, flailing in the snow, trying desperately to put himself out.
