I've scribbled ideas across three pages already. Spicy ramen. Fire and ice. Sweet and sour. None of them feels right anymore. How do you plate betrayal? How do you season panic attacks? How do you garnish trust that's already been shattered? I bite my lip. Maybe agreeing to the hundred days had been a mistake. Maybe I'd simply been too exhausted to keep fighting. I flip another page, trying to focus on recipes instead of emotions. At least food makes sense. People don't. My phone vibrates on the vanity. I barely glance at it. But it’s enough for me to notice the message on the screen.

It was because he wasn’t there with me. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “I just… I panicked. Then it was positive and I had to get that stupid failing piece of crap out of my body so it didn’t hurt our baby and then I panicked some more and then you called and then I panicked a little more and then I panicked myself all out.” His lips twitched. “Still got a little in there, huh?” I exhaled shakily. “A little? A lot. But I figure I have eight months to panic, so why waste all that in one day?”

I know if I don’t, I’ll feel another panic attack coming on. With my eyes closed, I think of Liam and the way his sweet scent lingers, even when he’s not in the room. Then, I think of Jacob and his soft kisses tickling my skin, and the way he looks at me as if I’m the most beautiful thing he’s seen. Fifteen minutes go by, and still nothing from Dr. Richards. I’m beginning to think that something’s wrong. At first, I tell myself to take long, deep breaths, but then the panic sets in. I want to get out now.

Even so, my heart felt warm and fuzzy inside. The next year, we got married, and his company took off. The first thing he did was buy the dying chocolate factory. After that, I had all the sweets I could ever want. Now, however, that sweetness was like poison, sealing off my breath. My chest felt suffocated. My heart was beating so fast against my sore ribs that I thought my chest was going to split open. Panic. Blind, total, animal panic. My body got hot fast. I started sweating, burning from the inside out even with the freezing wind. My stomach cramped hard. No. No, no, no. The pills. My body was eating through them because of how scared I was. I could feel the wall they built in my blood starting to break. The bitter taste in my mouth was fading fast, replaced by something sweet. Something very heavy.

If this man is destined for me, then please let me love him unconditionally, without doubt, hesitation, or fear. He chuckled, which tickled me, but here I was, tears rolling down my cheeks at the thought. And I know I'm losing this fight, even though it's not official. I am doomed that I let myself fall to this man, who only knows how to bury his member inside me. You are fucked up, Mayu! I just hope that what he shows is true so that I won't lose! "What about my midnight snack, My Sweetie?" he teased. I blinked and tried to push him away. He didn't put on weight and let himself lie on the bed.

I blurted sarcastically. "No need being a stupid fool who can't use her brain in times of trouble. I can see how panicked you are at the thought of being stuck with me. Believe me, I don' like the thought either. I don't even know why you intentionally used my elevator when you know very well the regular one is working." "Will you cut the crap? Do you think I enjoy seeing your silly arrogant face? I will give everything not to see your face ever again but poor me, I have no choice but to see it every fucking day!"

Erna laughed and continued her walk out of the room while Erlangga walked by Andien's side as he caught movement from a previously motionless body. Erlangga watched Andien's eyelids move slowly before finally opening and Erlangga saw that the eyes were empty and not lifeless. Erlangga waited for Andien to make a sound like most patients who had just woken up but Erlangga couldn't hear it because what happened was that Andien screamed and screamed, causing panic. "Calm down, Miss. You're safe with us," Erlangga said, calming Andien who was moving wildly trying to remove the infusion needle that was still attached to her arm.
