The chapter I read that night was the seventeenth call The Gem. I went asleep while reading the part where the black cult has to look for a gem.

It was the story of a human who despaired at the idea of being dumped in that dark and scary place, because what the novel was about - it wasn’t even 1% of the real things Elaine had to go through.

"I met her when I was twenty-five and she worked in a bookstore on the west side. It was a small place and she reorganized the whole crime fiction section so that all the mob books were spine out." He stopped and almost smiled. "Said she was tired of glorifying men who hurt people." Bella laughed softly. "I like her already."

My finger hovered over the acceptance key, but the memory of the black pearl crown sinking into the ceremonial water flashed through my mind, and I violently terminated the connection. Across the neutral zone, inside the heavily fortified Blackwell estate, Ronan stood before Lord Blackwell, his arms locked behind his back as his posture remained perfectly rigid. Lady Blackwell crossed her leather-clad arms, her eyes burning with an intense, aristocratic fury before she slammed her heavy gauntlet onto the strategy table.

Her short black hair frames her face and is cut just above her chin, her light brown eyes look like they’re shining from the adrenaline she’s feeling, and from her smirk I can see a deep dimple in her left cheek. Her voice is taunting as she says, “Well, well, well, if isn’t Penelope Fox’s daughter, the new white wolf.” She gives an over exaggerated pout as she says, “Looks like she got caught in the wolf’s den.” My eyes flicker around me, I need something to help me get leverage. Her eyes look wild, and I know this is Beatrix Black, but I find it odd how much more wild and unhinged she looks compared to her brother who had been cursed.
