Aura’s pov The indescribable pain was cursing through my blood vessels. They said that your first shift is always hard and painful but this is way too painful then I have ever thought. The bones were arranged in a different skeleton and the skin grew furry hair on my body. When I opened my eyes, I noticed my white claws instead of hands and sharp talons instead of nails. The she-wolf, who was fighting with me earlier, shifted quickly to fight with me. I was new to this power but I knew that I could take her down. I could sense her moves and dodged them easily.

He was utterly still. The others were all pacing around on all fours, beast-like, their eyes blank. He was slumped against one corner of his enclosure. His head was in shadow and I could tell that his breathing was even. I assumed he was sleeping, but as I got closer to the angled panels, I could see that there was blood oozing out from the soles of his feet. There was scar tissue there which looked like it had not been allowed to heal properly.

His jaw cracked wider, bones shifting under stretched flesh. Behind her, Asher and Bran were locked in a brutal rhythm—Asher was half-shifted, teeth bared, fur across his back. Bran had him by the throat, but Asher twisted and sank his claws into Bran’s thigh, tearing muscle.

The edges were turning black like infection. "That's not possible, I heal from silver bullets, I should heal from this." "Unless the claws that made these wounds weren't normal claws." As he got closer to the buck his fingers started to ache and his gums started to itch.
