Only we can protect Magica!” cried Radcliff oration with great enthusiasm. “LONG LIVE RADCLIFF THE FIRE BREATH!” shouted all the sorcerers from the Red Magic Tower while brandishing their fists in the air with burning enthusiasm in response to Radcliff's call. “WHO IS WITH ME?” “US! Nick shouted to the group of guardians, and they all moved quickly. I approached Amelie in disbelief and saw her sweating. “What are you doing?” I asked, and she looked at me calmly. “I'm summoning pure celestial magic to counteract her magic,” Amelie said. “If you're smart, you'll find some damn power-nullifying handcuffs and put them on her.” As if Clare had heard, she growled, stood up, and shook the earth. Amelie and I fell, but Clare was quick. With a snap of her fingers, she made the monsters disappear, and then she began to fade away, smiling maliciously. When she finally left, I could see why she was smiling.

The silver poisoning was taking its toll on the Alpha's body. Chloe cleared her throat and I looked up from Tor's embrace. She raised an eyebrow as she held out a cup of tea. "What kind of foul business is this?" he asked, his nose crinkling. "It is my own brew, actually. A silver poisoning antidote made from dried moonflowers, yellow dock, and witch hazel. Plus of course, a bit of magic," she finished, giving me a wink.

His chest heaved, his jaw slackened, and as his gaze dropped briefly to my bleeding arm and back up to my terrified eyes, a low, hypnotic rumble vibrated deep within his chest. He took one slow, deliberate step toward me, his voice dropping into a raspy, spellbinding whisper that shattered the quiet. "...Mate." And just like that, I blacked out.

"That's my choice! I don't need you to care. I don't need you to interfere. Let me go." I stepped closer, fury brewing in me. "You have no clue what you're endangering," I growled. "This isn't just about you." She gave me a sharp look. "What's that supposed to mean?" I stared at her, my voice lowering but strained. "Alpha Blake's pack. They're spell-proof, Clara. Do you get it? Spell-proof. They can free themselves from magic. I saw it myself." Her eyes widened slightly, shock flickering before she forced her expression back into normal. "That's impossible."
