It seemed they didn’t care too much about the gruesome battle raging outside; their eyes were on the invisible barrier surrounding the house. As the witches walked along the edge, creating a semicircle around the barrier, another figure stepped out from the growing fog outside the tree line. The tall Raven had straight black hair that ran almost the entire length of her back. She was thin and had strange black markings all over her pale skin, which seemed to whirl on her skin as she began muttering something. A black film emerged as she chanted, swirling around her body in pulses.

The aura around him sank slightly, and his clear voice no longer carried even a trace of warmth as he calmly called out two words toward the empty mountain forest. "Raven." The moment his voice fell, the previously clear sky darkened abruptly. A giant raven with a wingspan of nearly ten feet, its entire body black as ink and its feathers gleaming with a cold metallic sheen, tore through the sky and dove down from the clouds with a howling rush of wind.

“I own you. Everything about you. Your hands. Your blades. Your nights. Your secrets. You work for me.” Tension coiled in my gut. “What do you want?” “I heard news.” He said, circling me slowly, predatory, never touching but close enough I felt the heat from his body. His breath brushed my neck as he paused behind me. “Unpleasant ones, Raven. You’ve been playing in someone else’s sandbox. Damien Blackwood’s little playground. Letting rich men drool over what belongs to me.”

Making me feel like i just asked the worst question. "Well", he said his voice going back to how it usually was, the voice that would make a stranger run for the hills. "Well I'm Bryan Raven, lived in New York most of my life till now. Cause my dad thinks I can jump off our apartment, so here I am being catered by you guys", he said finally with his face going plane. "Well trust me they're way more places to kill yourself here than in New York", i said matter factly trying to lighten his mood. Just beyond it was a small patch of trees and a gravel path. That’s when I saw her. A woman in black leaned against a tree, her posture too casual, too calculated. It was as if she had been waiting for me. She motioned towards me, stopping right in front of me. “You must be Tessa,” she said, pushing off the trunk. She was stunning—tall, dark eyeliner, crimson lips, and a silver pendant that shimmered in the sun. Something about her felt… off. “I’m Raven,” she said with a chilling smile. “Ryder’s ex.”

His gray eyes scanned the tree line, every muscle coiled and ready for violence. Then the black Range Rover came into view, and the tension bled out of his shoulders. "Noir," he muttered, his hand dropping from the weapon. The SUV pulled up near the cottage, and Noir climbed out looking annoyed. His long hair had come loose from its tie, dark strands whipping around his face in the wind. He moved to the back of the vehicle and started pulling out bags, his movements sharp and efficient. "You two going to help or just stand there looking tragic?" he called out, not even glancing our way.

But this time I dreaded it more than the first. My eyes shot wide. There he was standing in all black , with a hoodie over his face. I peered closer, the only thing I could make out was the sinister smile that reached up the shadow hiding the rest of his face. My gaze drifted to the opposite side of the road and I spotted Andrew's BMW-I8 parked there. Could it actually be his? No, no! Colour drained from my face and I looked on in horror. A shrill scream left my lips as I cowered to the floor both hands covering my ears.
