And his eyes— God. His eyes are lit with something feral. Something bright and unstable. Something that flick over me like I’m an object he’s already claimed, already dismantled in his head. There’s no hesitation in those eyes of his. No restraint. This is a man who wouldn’t blink before tearing something apart. A demon. He stops just outside the circle of light, letting it split his face in half—one side illuminated, the other swallowed by shadow. My body reacts before my mind does. I strain uselessly against the ropes and my back presses into the chair in an attempt to create a distance.

The kind that says I see you and I am glad and this is everything and I will not make it weird. When she pulls back her eyes are doing something. "Do not," I say. "I am not doing anything," she says. "Your eyes are doing something," I say. "They are fine," she says, blinking rapidly. "Completely fine. Dust." "Hackney dust." "Notorious for it," she says.

Wounding her own flesh. The Wicked Witch remembered how the demon looked like, the one who blessed her with power. The man's skin was pale as the lack of the sun on his skin almost made him look ghostly. His lips were ruby red and his eyes were piercing black. Obsidian eyes, beautiful… and yet, empty. On the demon’s hand was a human head, and the blood was still dripping from its mauled neck for the demon feasted on human flesh and blood. All the hair on her body stood up when she saw numbers of human remains, bones laying there.

Roger says, “I think I know what girl you’re talking about. Her eyes flash red at times. It’s spooky.” I nod, “That is her.” Sam’s eyebrows crinkle and she says, “Flashing red eyes. Okay, there’s no way she’s a werewolf then, what kind of creature is she?” I breathe out, “That I don’t know. Maybe a vampire?” Roger shakes his head, “She doesn’t look like one outside of the red eyes. I have my bet on her being a demon. I’ve seen her eyes get pitch black too.” Sam grumbles as she crosses her arms, “That sure sounds like a demon. I hate those creatures.”

I stayed still, waiting for what would happen next, snapping my head around trying to figure out where the demon was in particular. "Show yourself," I said. "Or are you afraid to face me?" I added with the little courage in me. The trees began to crack, and they were forming into a large, ugly beast I had never seen before. The demon had four eyes. Two were black, and the other remaining two were red with long, sharp nails and four horns at the top of its head. The demon was red and ready to swallow me up. And at that point, I knew I was doomed. Who would save me from my destruction, or would I save myself, I thought?

Black. He had black eyes. Those previously dark brown eyes of his had turned completely black. There was no sclera around them. No iris. Just...black. Completely black. Devoid of any light. Any soul. And his mouth...it wasn't normal anymore. His lips weren't looking that appealing anymore. Because there were sharp, jagged teeth protruding from in between them. Making him look like the most frightening demon that she had ever seen.

The six of them were formidable in battle as well. In fact, after consuming the souls of over 100 people, one of the revenants had had his eyes opened. Another eye had appeared out of nowhere on his brow. It was no ordinary eye. It showed that the revenant was elevated and was on its way to becoming a demon general. In the legends of Dramon, all the best demon generals had an eye on their brow. It was called the Demon Eye. It could see through three lifetimes and separate light and dark energy.

Those eyes looked way too cold and familiar. Wait! This wasn’t just a beast, it looked like him— like Xlynor… a demon side of Xlynor. His skin was pale grey, almost ash-like with red and black veins pulsing beneath it. His long hair glowed faintly, quite ethereal, but his eyes—his eyes were shifting colors violently. He pulled me flush against him while I struggled weakly with my hands pushing against his chest. “Please… please… I'm sorry.” I sobbed, as my knees weakened.

‎When she woke up and saw me, the fear in her eyes hit like a drug. ‎Then the confusion. ‎Then the anger. ‎Not the kind that turns me on. ‎The kind that says I’ve ruined her. ‎I don’t care. ‎Call me selfish. ‎Call me monster. ‎Call me whatever. ‎Caleb Whitlock is lucky to still have his head. ‎The thought of him touching her. ‎Kissing her. ‎Inside her. ‎It makes me want to burn the world down. ‎I down the vodka. ‎The burn is welcome.

I freeze in shock. The only eyes I've ever seen turn black this way are mine. In my demon form. Was that what she was? I look up at Blair who is still chanting, now only louder with beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She falls to her knees as Amara continues to scream, her eyes are full black now. I can see Blair's eyes glowing a violent white before she gasps and drops her hands. Amara's body instantly relaxes and her eyes turn back to normal. They're both breathing heavily, I cup Amara's cheeks and kiss her all over her face, trying to calm both of us. She lets out a weak laugh as she grips her chest.
