Blood Crown

Blood Crown

The guys exclaimed and helped the new guy to his feet. “They are here. We have to leave immediately." Azriel spoke just in time as a massive black dog emerged from nowhere and stepped on the frame of the broken door. Its eyes were the deepest shade of black, like peering into an abyss, and its fangs were jagged as he licked them while glaring with a malevolent stare, its claws were the sharpest and didn't belong to a dog because this wasn't a dog; Roxie realized she was staring at a bloody wolf.

Dark Blood: The Series

He adds. “What is so bad about him he can’t be mentioned?” I ask. “According to the Urban Legend, he murdered over 20 students at this school. He killed the first 3 as revenge. After he did that he murdered his family including his little brother.” He explains. “Wow... so he was a psychopath?” I mutter. “Yes, yes, he was.” He grumbles. “What was his brother’s name?” I continue to question. “His name was Lockie Saunders. Apparently he was sweet. He was the quiet type. The opposite to Killian.” Callie interrupts.

The Pack's Hybrids

The Pack's Hybrids

“A rabid large-breed dog was located in the scrubland within 2 miles of your house and slaughtered. Our CSI is running tests to verify that it was responsible for the death of your parents and your parents, but we are pretty confident that we have found the dog responsible.” “Oh,” Logan frowned and winced as doing so pulled on his stitches. “It wasn’t a dog though…” He said with uncertainty. “It was on two legs and had…” He trailed off, feeling his cheeks heat. Had he had a sex dream tangled up in his memory of what had happened in the kitchen, and been blabbing about a dog with breasts to everyone? “Maybe it was a dog,” he finished under his breath.

Dawn
That’s the end of the 4th book in the series. Can’t wait for the next book “the rebels”. This has been a fantastic series & though the book spends a lot of time going back & forth into the past & present it allows for those who have not read the whole series so far to keep up. Well done Everleigh xx

No update yesterday-everything seems centered in the past. Aislan is pregnant she has 4 men that are too busy with each other to realize she’s gone and they should be raining hell on the trash that tortured them but she never shouldn’t been involved but all too concerned with sex with each other!

All I Want for Christmas is Pooch

All I Want for Christmas is Pooch

“Not only do people prefer smaller dogs, they tend to think that black dogs are more aggressive. It’s called Black Dog Syndrome. Some people say it’s just a myth, but as you can see, it’s true here.” Looking at the sad faces gazing back at him made Brady want to cry. They all looked so sad, like they’d just given up on life. “Why do you keep them all together?” “So that they can bond, rely on one another,” she replied. “I still think Blacky has a good chance of being adopted. He’s young, and I think he may be a full-blooded lab. But just in case, I want him to have friends in here, like Samson, Zeke, and Beau.” She pointed at three of the larger older dogs as she spoke.

Substitute Wife for the Mafia King

Substitute Wife for the Mafia King

If only Bradon was here, I will probably be dragged back to the mansion and punished but he wouldn’t actually kill me but if that shadowy thing was a tiger or a beast of some sort then I really might end up dead for real this time. A growl answered my call for Bradon, and I immediately knew that the figure hiding in the shadow wasn’t human. Instinctively, I took a few steps back. At that same moment, the unknown beast approached me, and I could see it clearly as it stepped out of the shadows. I gasped when I saw that it was a dog and not a very cute version of one. “Oh…” I murmured as my eyes widened. The dog was black, large, and its fangs looked so big as it continued growling at me. I had

His Weakness

His Weakness

As I enter my classroom, I take my seat, and soon, the teacher announces today’s assignment. “Morning, class. Today, we will remember when wolves and fangs were our biggest enemy.” Mr. Granbury announces. Back to the conversation earlier, the urban legends of Blackfoot go far back. The Shoshone tribe had many run-ins with them, as my people called them night stalkers, because they only rummaged through the fields late at night. They turn into humans only during full moons, which is the other way around in all the movies. Some say a witch put a curse on them, keeping them in wolf form and only human for the short days of the full moon.

The Dark Mysteries Of Castle Free Sky

Everyone froze and listened to see if they heard it again. "Shit!" Caine whispered as he recognized the person that they could now see. He was walking his dog through the woods. It was the boy's father whose car he had stolen a week before. The man suddenly noticed them too. They all froze, even the dog. Everyone quickly noticed that it was no small dog... He was huge and sleek and as black as night. He looked like he could swallow a whole human head in one bite.

TGV - The Green Virus

TGV - The Green Virus

A dog bark gets my attention, I face to the direction of the bark. A small black gaunt dog standing few blocks away, trying to scare the zombies away with its weak trailing bark, but they keep coming closer to it, all they see is food. The dog hurries away probably tired of barking, but it eventually runs out of luck, as another hoard of zombie in front got hold of it, I look away to avoid the horrible sight of a poor dog devoured into pieces. “Not even animals are spared" Mel says, I turned to see her holding two small plastic plate dishes.

White Wolf

White Wolf

The night wind carries light cold air gliding through the leaves on the tall trees on the forest’s edge. The night covered the woods, making people feel murky to creepy. A man taking his dog for a walk suddenly stopped because he heard the wild Wolf howling. The dog walking in front of the man also increased his vigilance. The dog stood still, and his sharp eyes fixed on the thicket of the forest. "Zen, go home!" The man orders a pet dog. The man knew that the sound of the Wolf howling contained a lot of dangers because normally wolves only live deep in the forest. They rarely get close to the edge of the forest, where humans live.

Frequently Asked Questions

The black dog in folklore is such a fascinating figure—it pops up everywhere from British tales to Gothic horror, and its symbolism shifts depending on the culture. In English legends like the Barghest or Black Shuck, it’s often an omen of death or misfortune, appearing near graveyards or before disasters. But what’s wild is how layered it gets: some stories paint it as a guardian of ancient pathways, while others treat it like a spectral judge, punishing the wicked. I love how its ambiguity mirrors human fears—is it a warning, a curse, or just a lost soul? The way these tales evolve across regions (like the Gurt Dog in Somerset being oddly protective) makes it feel like a mirror for local anxieties.

Personally, I’ve always been drawn to the psychological angle—Carl Jung’s 'shadow' theory fits eerily well here. The black dog embodies the unknown parts of ourselves we project onto the world. It’s no surprise modern media like 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' or even video games like 'Bloodborne' riff on this trope. The duality of menace and mystery keeps it timeless.
