“You think this is over? You’ve only broken the lock. The thing beneath the Black Moon stirs, child. And it remembers your name.” Kaelira’s blood ran cold. “No,” she whispered. “The Echo was the last of it. I destroyed it.” “You destroyed its shell,” Varyn said. “But its heart — the true Black Moon — was never in this world to begin with. It’s waiting. And it’s calling you home.” Zevran stepped forward. “Then we’ll burn your god a second time.” Varyn’s expression softened, almost pitying. “You can’t fight the storm, boy. You can only drown in it.”

They were dead ends of information. They’d been blackmailed by one person or another into doing what they did. They all claimed to have family or loved ones in a dangerous situation with their lives at risk. What they found was no connection because the people who forced them to do it were being blackmailed by an unknown person themselves. Cal suspected this was the beginning of the plan, but he hoped he was wrong. Because if he was right, this would end up lighting the city up in a multi-pack war. They’d struggled to keep shifters secret and quiet a year ago, while they hunted rogues who were kidnapping human women to create some freaky new form of pack or army. It was all too much to under

A massive hound bounded out of the thick fog. It did not look like a normal dog at all. The skin was leathery, hairless, and totally black, its large eyes glowing with the same sickly green light as Morgath’s magic runes. Its jaws were completely unhinged, dripping a thick acidic drool that hissed loudly against the wet gravel stones. It was a Council hunting beast, and it had our exact scent.

It burned from the lack of sleep. Aurora looked tired as well, but she was dogged to finish the book, to find anything mo

Black dogs, are they wolves? "Are they wolves?" I asked him, his eyes widened and says no. "They are more sinister than wolves." He answered. Many people fear them. I thought they weren't interested in our city, but look what they have done." The people were trying to stop the fire, but even if they could, all the things have turned to none. It's beyond salvation.
