The Top Boy Is My Mate

The Top Boy Is My Mate

I muttered, voice hoarse with sleep. The bell sounded again, each strike vibrating the glass of the window. I squeezed my eyes shut. Why the hell was the bell going off at this hour? Then I remembered, this wasn’t just any school. This is Blackwood. Where monsters schooled behind beautiful faces. Where vampires, I’d overheard, sometimes went for their early-morning hunts, returning before the sun could burn their pale skin to ash. The bell. It wasn’t for us. It was for them. I forced myself to sit up, swinging my legs over the side of the bed. The floor was cold beneath my feet.

BELLATRIX

BELLATRIX

I am as good as dead, I thought. GABRIEL I was just about to leave the office when my phone started to ring. It was my Bella, I had saved her new number as ‘MY LIFE’ and with a happy smile plastered on my face, I answered, “Missing me already, my love?” But instead of her voice, I heard, “Hey, Gabe, it’s Neo. You need to get down to the Bakery Now!” The urgency in his voice said it all. Something bad had happened. When I reached the bakery, the place was crawling with cops, and I could see some of my men already there too. I told the cop who was blocking the entrance who I was, and he let me go in. The scene before me was gruesome! There were blood and broken glass pieces just about everywhe

Soul Shard Captor [BL]

Soul Shard Captor [BL]

As expected from his silly-cute brother-in-law, the doorbell rang before the scheduled time. Chuckling to himself, Noah merrily hopped to the door and swung it open to welcome his brother-in-law with a big smile, and… nearly got a heart attack!!! 😱 A scream of bloody murder got stuck in Noah’s throat, coming out as a cute squeak that perfectly matched his current appearance of a Bambi caught in the headlights. Stiffly he gaped at the walking corpse standing in front of his door. It was dressed in black from head to toe, making the sickly pallor of its skin appear even more discomforting. The sharp contrast of black and white didn’t stop there, the huge dark circles underneath its eyes looke

The Sound Of Ruin

The Sound Of Ruin

In him. I forced the door open. The hush swallowed me whole. Sound died in that chamber. Even the rasp of my breath seemed muted. Dust hung thick, suspended like it couldn’t decide whether to fall. In the center stood a plinth, and on it, the anchor: a black bell, etched with the same sigils, a hairline crack running its curve.

Wrecked by my enemy

Wrecked by my enemy

tink*—a dry, metallic sound that came every four seconds, matching the gold second hand on his mother’s watch exactly until the digital clock on the microwave across the room turned twelve-thirty-one. The silence was broken by the buzzer on the wall. It wasn't the soft, polite chime they had in the Park Avenue prospectus. It was an old-fashioned, raw iron bell that sat in a small grey box next to the refrigerator, its hammer hitting the casing with a violent, vibrating *bzzzzzzzt* that made the glassware in the cupboard rattle against the shelves. Elias didn't move for three seconds. He didn't go to the intercom. He stayed by the glass, his forehead still cold from the window pane, his eyes

I Never Regretted Leaving You

I Never Regretted Leaving You

This family should not have been in such a state of collapse. Thorne entered the villa, walked through the corridor, and finally stopped in front of Olivia's bedroom door. The lock on Olivia's door was fastened, and at some point, a cute little bell had been hung on it. Thorne's handsome face was filled with immense confusion as he extended his trembling hand, gently caressing the small bell with his fingertips. The bell was made of pure silver, with words engraved on both sides. Judging from its color, it appeared to be very old.

i think the author needs to focus on finishing books rather than leaving lots of unfinished ones that leave your readers hanging and we do not want that. you would gain more followers and readers if you can concentrate on one story at a time and finish each book. more ongoing than completed books
SillyRabbit
This is one heck of a story. It has romance, betrayal, revenge, time travel, robots and tons of dramatic twists and turns. There are some translation mistakes here and there but overall, it’s well written.

The Watchmaker's Will"

The Watchmaker's Will"

The bell tolled—a deep, resonant, and impossibly loud sound that did not travel through the air, but through the very fabric of time itself. The first toll of the bell shattered the artificial crimson horizon, causing the sky to crack open like a dome of dark glass. The second toll sent a massive wave of white energy rippling across the courtyard, instantly vaporizing the remaining shadow entities into wisps of gray mist. The third toll caused the spinning brass plates beneath Anaya’s feet to lock into place with a definitive, thunderous clack.

The Mafia’s heir’s bride

The Mafia’s heir’s bride

They walked through the ancient corridor of the castle until they reached a black iron door. No handles. No keyhole. Just a shimmering panel with numbers. The king stepped forward and pressed a sequence: 3-9-0-1-7-8. A faint beep. Then a deep click echoed through the silence. The door creaked open. Inside, the room was nearly pitch black. Yet in the center, resting on a pedestal of stone, a faint glow pulsated. The black book. Even in its sealed casing, it looked alive. Powerful. Ancient.

THE REJECTED LUNA’S FOUR KINGS

THE REJECTED LUNA’S FOUR KINGS

POV EMMA BELLE The sun hadn't even finished rising when the horn sounded. It wasn't the deep, booming call of a victory or the rhythmic alert of a patrol. It was the Sorrow-Blast—a jagged, mournful note that only sounded when the North had bled. I was in the solar, trying to stomach a piece of toast while the puppies did backflips in my womb, when the doors were thrown open so hard the obsidian hinges shrieked.

Frequently Asked Questions

The novel 'Black Door' was written by Richard J. Evans, a historian who usually focuses on non-fiction but took a thrilling detour into fiction with this one. I stumbled upon it while browsing a used bookstore, drawn in by its ominous title and stark cover design. Evans' background in history really shines through—the book blends meticulous research with a gripping narrative, almost like 'The Name of the Rose' but with a darker, more modern twist. It’s a shame it isn’t more widely known; the way he weaves real historical tensions into a fictional conspiracy is masterful.

I later learned Evans intended 'Black Door' as a standalone experiment, which explains why it feels so distinct from his academic work. If you enjoy authors like Dan Brown but crave deeper historical layers, this might be your hidden gem. I’ve loaned my copy to three friends, and all of them finished it in a weekend—that’s how addictive it is.
