"And she’s going to use it to kill us. If we don't find, she will use him to take your throne." Ricardo stared at me for a long time. The silence in the room was heavy. Finally, he nodded. "Fine," he whispered. "But once I tell you, there’s no going back. You’ll be part of the secret forever." "I’m already part of it," I said, thinking of the red laser dot on Maria’s chest and the golden eyes in the woods. "I’ve been part of it since the day I stepped into this mirror." I sat on the bed, my heart ready for the truth. I knew that the next few hours would change everything. The "Mirror of Malice" was about to show us a face we never expected to see.

And place my hand on it. “Go on then, I’m already classed as a psycho you may as well make me be one!” I yell. The reflection just smiles an evil smile. Places his hand on mine. And before I knew it, he disappears. I pull my hand away from the mirror. I look at my hand, then look back at the mirror. It is just me, but I feel different. I turn my back to the mirror and look at my hands. I feel that it is not me, that it isn’t my body. Suddenly I feel what I think is a tear from each eye trickling down my cheeks. I turn to the mirror. It was blood!

The lift ascended in a terrifying, pressurized silence, the only sound the low-frequency hum of the anti-gravity stabilizers. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of ozone and the heavy, electric charge of two identical storms. Alexander stood at the rear of the cabin, his cerulean blade humming. Facing him was the Mirror, a Black-Sun Unit crafted from high-density liquid metal, its face an exact, silver-plated replica of his own.

One where he burned the world to ash. One where he knelt beside Emilio and chose forgiveness. He stared at that last version the longest. Then turned away. “Not yet,” he whispered. And the mirror went dark. ~~~~~~~~~~ THE BLACK HOUSE Emilio stood alone in the courtyard. The night was dry. The stars hard and silent. He placed the list in his coat pocket.

And then the bond burns. Not with his pain this time—but something else. Something vast and watching. I freeze. Slowly turn. A mirror stands at the end of the street. Except there’s no street. Just—black water where cobblestones should be, rippling without sound. And the mirror’s frame is made of bone. I take one step toward it—don’t even know why— —and the reflection moves before I do. It smiles. And I realize it’s not me. Not really. Come closer, it whispers.

My image finally started blurring, but it’s not my family that’s reflecting back at me this time. It’s Creed, bloody and bruised. He screamed as the chains that held him rattled. The mirrors surrounding him played images of burning buildings and people running. I can hear their screams, their innocent. Just as fast as they came, the images vanished. They were replaced by a battle, but I don’t recognize anyone. The image of a black wolf is positioned above the battle in the mirror. An image of a vampire was on the mirror next to it. I can hear screams of pain and heartbreak as I watch the victims from both sides fall.

“A theoretical state—predating quantum existence. The lab called it the Black Epoch. It was considered a myth… a pre-temporal layer of unformed probability.” Nyx interjected, uneasily. “So... how can something exist in a place that’s outside time?” “It doesn’t,” Evryn said softly. “Unless it never needed time to begin with.” The signal pulsed again. This time, it carried audio. A distorted, inhuman voice echoed through the chamber. No mouth. No source. Only a tone layered with subharmonics that bypassed sound entirely and whispered directly into their neural interfaces. “You have fractured the mirror.”

“Let’s see if I can survive being lectured by the cosmos now.” The forest melted again, and I found myself in a hall of mirrors. Thousands of them. Each one showing a different version of me, some powerful, some monstrous, some broken, some crying. Then a voice spoke, calm, female, and chillingly familiar. “What do you seek, Violet Black?” I looked around. “Survival?” “Lies.” The mirrors around me began to ripple, my reflections shifted, hundreds of them, all raising their hands to point at me, the same accusing glare on every face.

I looked harder out the thick glass doors, peering through the rain. There was a faint silhouette of a little boy around eight running frantically around glancing up at the sky and into the shadows everywhere. I sprinted out the doors, the fat drops coming down on my uncovered head. “What’s wrong?” I stopped dead in my tracks. Sprinting around high in furious circles was a huge black shadow. Its deep red evil eyes shot through my soul and made me stagger back into the hard doors. It looked like a black ghost, but it had a ragged gray exterior that looked like pasty, dead skin covered in deep cuts.

I guess I'll have some good sleep rather watching that not-so-horror movie. I turned off the lights and was just about to lie down when I saw a shadow at my window and it just vanished the next second. Okay! I guess the movie wasn't that bad as I was saying otherwise why would I imagine something like this? I'm definitely hallucinating because of those scary scenes, plus why would someone stalk me? Besides this area is safe, no thiefs can enter here due to high security. I shrugged off thinking it to be my imagination and lied down covering myself with blacket till my neck.
