Then I placed my palm on his forehead, took a deep breath, and whispered a chant.
Slowly, I saw the bruises begin to clear and the wounds close up. Soon, there was barely a scratch on him.
But he did not open his eyes.
*What is wrong? He should be awake by now.*
Suddenly, his eyes slowly opened as he tried to make out his environment. His eyes met mine, and his gaze darkened. He clenched his fist and let out a low growl. I froze, my heart pounding. Before I could react, he lunged at me, his hands like steel around my neck. I thrashed and kicked, but his grip was suffocating. Fear clawed at me as I struggled to breathe.
