She screamed and hid behind him when she saw us. “WHO ARE YOU?!” Big Boss exclaimed looking back and forth on us. I take a good look at him. He looks like the same age as me. “It’s not for you to know.” Black Dragon answered pointing his gun to him. I gripped my own gun, ready to use it if needed. Big Boss is about to move while the woman positioned to run. Black Dragon spoke. “Move even an inch and I’ll blow your heads simultaneously.” His voice sounded cold and emotionless. I looked at him and was startled to see his face expressionless. He looked like a professional cold blooded killer. Big Boss and the woman froze. Black Dragon turned to the woman.

I saw Maxon’s face, contorted into a sociopathic grin, holding an artifact that pulsed with ancient magic. And I saw blood—entire rivers of blood. “What is that?" I asked in horror.

Chapter 22: Solo Boss Fight The big black monster smashed into the concrete path with a loud crash that shook the whole wall beneath my feet. The concrete broke under its weight sending small gray rocks bouncing over the edge. Up Close, the monster was really scary. It was over nine feet tall with muscles that looked like wet leather in the dim morning light. It smelled like metal and rotting wood. It did not have hands; its long arms ended in thick curved bones that looked sharp enough to cut through a car engine. Its chest moved as it breathed, blowing a bad smell right into my face.

Mike replied in an abusive manner. "Am sorry for Mike's behavior towards you sir inspector. Actually I didn't tell you why I called you here. Well.. you remember when I told you that demons and witches exit and you never believed me?"Mr Smith started. He was right, it was a good idea to explain things to the inspector before anything else because some of them had no idea about demons and witches. "Yes. I still remember. But why are you reminding me this?"he asked confused. "Ahhh.. you see this case is related to demons."

Sinewy muscles covered their misshapen bones, but most of the time, they took the form of smoke. I’d lost count of the number of times demons had released me into an assault course of rocks and had me dodging and diving behind them, only for the wretched hounds to turn into black vapor and appear at my side. And when they wanted to, they could make themselves solid enough to create maximum damage with their teeth and claws and horns. This particular variety of monster stared out at me through eyes that burned like lava and barked through flaming jaws. “How on earth do you expect me to look after something that could eat me?”
