They looked like boars, but their skin was scaled and glistening, their tusks dripping with a saliva that smoked where it hit the concrete. Their eyes were milky white, blind but somehow tracking us. As the scarlet mist cleared, he could see what it was. A monster, or the devil himself, he wasn't sure. It looked like a man composed of smoke.

Rain turned her attention to the dark troops who had helped her. A few feet in front of Rain was a pile of black-winged monsters that had become carrion with black blood seeping onto the snow surface. The black-winged monster was like a crow, and only it was huge. Slowly but surely, the monster's shadow and black color faded into ashes, blown away by the wind. "Is he some kind of demon?"
