SERENA POV “I want nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with you.” I said coldly. “I withdraw and dismiss any bond or relationship between us. May the Goddess bear witness as I, Serena Blackwood, daughter of Alpha Asher Blackwood of the Crescent Moon Pack, reject Jayden as my mate and sever a bond that was never meant to be.” The moment the words left my mouth, something inside me cracked, sharp and irreversible. Elder Fenrick chuckled until his eyes watered.

Council military uniform, multiple rank insignias. A rising star, probably. Commander Sera. I'd heard whispers about her. Valen's new protégé. Ruthless. Ambitious. Everything the Council valued. "There he is," she said with satisfaction. "The legendary Damon Blackthorn. Tell me—do you regret it? Protecting the Shadow Wolf? Refusing to surrender her?"

Serena begged, shaking his unconcious body. "Get the girl and take the sample from the lycan," Talia said to the scientist and soldier standing beside her. "Don't you dare touch him," Serena said as blue flames surrounded her and her eyes turned blue. "You foolish witch, you crossed the wrong woman," Serena said, but she sounded different. "All of you will pay, you will die painful deaths, and I will watch you burn," Serena said as blue flames engulfed each soldier, burning them to a crisp. Bodies fell to the ground around Talia as she watched Serena in fear. as screams filled the air
