My body trembled internally from the pain. Poor Sylar... How'd he do it freely? She smacked me then, her eyes taking on a darker light as she got mad. "I won't hesitate to cut up into your mouth to get at your fangs," she warned me. "Now. Expose them," she snarled. I looked at her beggingly. She softened her gaze slightly and then rubbed my cheek.

“For your birthday. After that he’ll return to school.” Blade was my younger brother. A twenty year old with very little control over his powers. Unlike me, Blade did not come out as part vampire. He was part wolf, part snake. Not just any snake, mind you. My brother was a Reinio snake. A powerful specie that could easily kill as they had little or no self-control. I finished it with a stab to the chest and it dropped dead. A groan came from behind. Painful, wet. I turned fast. It was Walton. A vampire had him pinned, fangs deep in his neck. Blood poured out. Walton’s eyes were wide, hands weak on the vampire’s back. I felt the rage take over me. I roared and lunged towards it. My blade went through the vampire’s back. It let go, twisting to face me. I pulled the blade out and swung again, taking its head clean off. The body fell.

I snickered, waving a hand over my face. She held my shoulders tightly, not breaking eye contact. “I’m dead serious. I’ve done all the research I can in this world and i;ve never been more certain about a thing in my life than this. Blade is a werewolf and I'm his mate. They can have human mates too.”

I raised the blade. And from the eastern edge of the sanctuary, where the enslaved vampire contingent had been holding position for the last hour, someone came through the gap at a full run with silver eyes that were completely, entirely, unmistakably his own.

The blade easily sliced through skin, tendons and flesh, but got stuck halfway through the ancient vampire’s unnaturally hard cervical spine. Cyrus stared at him with big, fearful eyes, gasping for air, blood pouring from his mouth and nose. “Can you see it yet?” he mocked Cyrus. “Can you see hell?” To his surprise, the other vampire responded. “Please,” he wheezed the word out. “Scared.” Leaning in, he whispered, “Now you know how Mary felt.” Twisting the blade, Declan heard the Cyrus’s bones break, and he sliced through, finally separating his head from his body.

She pouted then trudged out of the room. Nadia widened her eyes as the man came closer to her. He lifted his own wrist to his mouth and chomped down. The sound of breaking skin sent a cringing shiver down her spine. Blood pooled from the prick and Damon offered her his wrist. Nadia instantly shook her head. “You’re delusional.” She retorted. Damon furrowed his brows. “Vampire blood heals little wolf.” He urged his wrist forward for her to take. “I’m not drinking that.” She pursed her lips.

With a shared glance, Zilver and Eskaal charged forward, their silver blades cutting through the night air with a haunting sound. The clash of steel against fangs and claws echoed through the graveyard. Zilver and Eskaal moved with uncanny precision and strength, their silver swords glinting in the moonlight. The vampiric army was so confident, now reeled from the painful burns inflicted by the enchanted silver.

“We just stopped on the way for a quick dinner.” He licks his lips, smirking, and that’s when I see the razor-sharp canines in his mouth, they aren't as thick as ours are when we partially shift, instead they are thinner, and pointier. Those of a vampire.
