I beg, my voice breaking.
“Drop the knife, or I swear I’ll slice straight across his neck,” he threatens, his voice cold and steady. He pushes the blade harder, and I know he’s not bluffing.
My hand loosens, and the knife clatters to the floor. I raise my hands slowly, my gaze never leaving the blade at Prince’s throat. “Look, I dropped it. Please, just leave him alone,” I plead, my voice trembling.
But he doesn’t release Prince. His grip stays firm, and the knife remains dangerously close to ending everything.
