She lifted something into the air with both hands. Brea sucked in a huge breath when she finally realized that Victoria held a baby high into the air, a bright blue blanket swathed the boy as he began to cry. The whole beautiful setting turned from a sparkling scene to a black ash color before her very eyes. Everything blurred and the once bright colors ran together, like a Rockwell painting gone wrong. She could hear a loud roaring, it sounded like that time when a tornado passed close to where she lived in town last year. Her body shook as her stomach heaved. This can’t be real! She leaned her head back and screamed, “NOOOO!”

The shadow leaned back slightly as he pondered the situation. “Don’t worry about it for now. Just keep spreading those Blips like I toldja.” Merlin pulled out one of the Blips from out of his pocket, and toyed with it a little. It was a small cylindrical container, and rather inconspicuous. Anyone who saw one of these on the side of a road wouldn’t think twice about it. In fact, it looked like it belonged with the rest of the detritus that littered the alleyway they were in.

Blaze added casually which made Breiy turn to him again. Breiy became thoughtful for a while while he blankly stared at the chopping board in front of him. "I will release a limited edition pick-up truck this week, only two top-of-the-line units. A black and a white panther edition. The mass production started last month and the initial units will be available in the market in the middle of next month" Breiy explained while he continued to chop the vegetables. Blaze paused for a while and stared at the back of his brother. "The black one" Blaze responded and went to his cooking.

Her rapidly beating heart and the way she scrunched her eyelids close gave her away. Zephyr didn't want to tell Chris about it and the man didn't seem to notice because he was busy checking on his patients. Zephyr smiled softly and shook his head before calling out to her again, this time he sounded angry. "This is your last chance. Open your eyes, else I'll throw you into a burning furnace." He threatened. Bellona let out a sigh and finally opened her eyes. His last words broke her resolve. Even though she wasn't scared of death but she vowed that if she was to die, she'd do it beautifully and getting burnt to ashes was definitely not a pleasant sight.

Keagan asked rhetorically, his tone tinged with sarcasm. "No way, bro! I'm genuinely looking out for you. Trust me, most of those other brands are just cheap imitations, loaded with chemicals you definitely don't want in your body," Blitz explained, raising his fist and waiting for Keagan to reciprocate with a fist bump. Keagan reluctantly obliged, but his initial impression of Blitz didn't sit well with him. It felt like Blitz put on a show for others, attempting to conceal his obnoxious nature, but failing to do so effectively.

It was the golden rule of bomb disposal, chapter and verse. The deputy commander's voice returned through a different comm link. "Hold on! You must know that the black wire is usually the negative wire, Ms. Gibson. Cutting it directly will cause a short circuit! It will detonate instantly!" Shirley scoffed as though she had heard a joke. "You're just a bunch of amateurs, so stop spouting nonsense! You're only interfering with my judgment now!" She glanced at me in the corner with disdain before continuing, "Isn't that right, Ms. Linwood? You see, sometimes, relying on experience is exactly what gets people killed!"

With that, she hurried up the stairs and the last thing Emily heard of her was the heavy sound of the door slammed shut. Emily dropped the waste bin in her hand and sat weakly on the couch. She could feel the tears pushing more strongly now, but she raised her head to keep them at bay. She wasn't going to shed any more tears, she thought with determination. But it seemed that the more she tried to prevent herself from letting her heart loose, the more her heart was becoming heavy.

Naturally, she was filled with anxiety and dread. "Get lost!" With a loud crash, Zayn hurled a liquor bottle at the door from inside the study. The sharp and piercing sound made Cassidy scream and turn to flee in panic.

Bin yelled, ducking as a grenade bounced down the concrete steps. BOOM! The blast threw a thick cloud of grey smoke and dust over the platform. Vin and Bin stood side by side at the base of the stairs, their rifles barking in unison as they held off the mercenaries. Suddenly, a mercenary slid down a metal support pipe, aiming his pistol directly at Kany’s head. Kany did not even look up from her tablet. With a cold, calm focus, she raised her Glock with her left hand and fired two quick, precise shots.

My voice broke with panic, my hands scrambling for my blade. “Quick, Eren, torches—now!” Aziz barked. Flint scratched. A torch flared, then another. Uncle Eren shoved one into a wall sconce, the flames casting long, jittering shadows. Then it happened. Our hellblades began to glow. A red pulse, faint at first, then stronger, like a heartbeat shared between them all. The glow shimmered across the stone, reflecting in our eyes. My throat tightened. “Why is it glowing already, I don’t see anything?”
