Bound To The Cruel Alphas (SPICY)
The burn on my hand had blistered angry and red, the skin around it raw, and every time the nurse touched it to clean the wound, fresh tears spilled down my cheeks no matter how hard I tried to stop them.
"I'm sorry, dear," the nurse said gently, dabbing at the wound with something that stung worse than the burn itself. "I know. Almost done." She glanced up at me, her old eyes sharp despite the wrinkles framing them. "You're lucky, you know. Truly lucky. That compound, left untreated on bare skin for even another minute, could have eaten straight through to bone. I've seen wolves lose fingers to less."
The room went very still.
"Lose fingers," Darren repeated, his voice flat and dangerous.
