It's her way of exhibiting her care for someone, and though this might sound offensive for others, I know Jean Austley too well to even be offended.
“You don't add insults to injuries,” I add.
“Lecture is always an insult for you, K. That's why you never grow,” she says bluntly.
“Wow. Thanks, Jean,” I answer with a decent hint of sarcasm in my tone. Her attitude is way too much for me to handle right now.
“It was not an insult, K, on the contrary it's actually my way of helping you not do the same mistake again,” Jean answers with a loud concern under her frustrated voice.
