I was my sister now. He dragged the body to the kitchen. Water ran. A suitcase zipper opened. I kept my eyes on the wall. Counted cracks. Seven up. Three across. The water stopped. Footsteps came back. Then he turned off the lights. Darkness. My real eyes screamed for light, but the white lenses blocked everything. I breathed slow. In. Out. A phone flashlight clicked on. Beam straight into my eyes. I didn't blink. Ten seconds. Twenty. My eyes burned behind the plastic, but my face stayed empty. Bored. *Blind.*

Adrian managed to hold onto Tyron, but the overwhelming gravity still pressed them down hard, causing shock among the onlookers. “How...” “So terrifying!” Everyone was horrified by the scene, feeling extreme dread at Adrian’s strength, and also extremely worried. Adrian was clearly on the brink of collapse. The relentless gravity pressing down on his back was almost causing it to fracture. The situation was terrifying, and Adrian was in a perilous state. Onlookers thought that if Adrian gave up on holding Tyron, he might still be able to recover. After all, he was on the 160th step, while Tyron was on the 159th. Not the "Basalt-Weight" of the Earth's core or the "Gold-Weight" of the Vanguard, but the simple, heavy pull of a 2024 gravity on a 2024 body. She was standing on a balcony in Geneva, the air smelling of ozone and expensive coffee instead of "Amethyst-Spores."

I began to say but suddenly found myself tilting over as my vision clouded with a bright purple haze. I was blinded as my body's weight suddenly dropped from its original 131 pounds to that as light as a feather. I suddenly felt weightless as my vision cleared. What appeared before me wasn't Liza nor Axil. It was an obsidian canvas that glittered brightly with purple stars.

-HER- As I continued to fall and fall into the pitch-black hole, I yelled at the top of my lungs. The strange thing was that my scream did not resound. I don't remember how long I fell, but it seemed like an eternity. As gravity seized me, I had my eyes tightly clenched and the wind was rushing past my ears. I had given up shouting because it didn't seem to help. However, at one point I felt someone restraining me and the wind stopped swooshing past my ears. I understood the fall had been broken, but how?

I was in search of something in there but my blurry vision wouldn’t let me focus. I felt my head getting heavy. It was as if my neck could no longer hold my head up and in place. It wobbled from side to side beyond my control. I wasn’t falling to the cold hard floor, was I? I might as well give up trying to keep in touch with my consciousness. As soon as this thought entered my head, I felt my head fall forward and into a rigid softness. Then nothing…

Someone pushes them. A man with a priest's collar. Mara glowed and ripped the view away. The eye blinked. Everything was over. Helena stared at her. Not surprised. Desperate. “It shows you how it chooses.” Mara stumbled back. Jonas grabbed her shoulder. “Mara, we need to get out of here.” The ground was so strong that the black basin jumped. cracks went through the glass. Water ran out. But not down. It crawled over the ground, against gravity, towards the hole.

My arms feel heavy and my head lowers to the ground as sleepiness becomes my only thought and my eyes finally fall closed. The sound of my beating heart startles me out of sleep as my eyes fly open, only for my vision to remain dark. I gingerly feel my hands over my face, working my fingers up my jawline and following the grooves and curves to my eyes. I can’t tell if I’m blind or if someone came and turned the light off once I was out. “Ah!” I groan as I poke my eyeballs, water springing to the corners, trying to work out the dirt I just placed there accidentally.

She grips onto it tightly as she holds on to it for support, feeling her heartbeat rapidly beating through her chest. Her breathing quickens as she struggles to breathe normally. Tears begin to form in her eyes as she stares ahead blankly. Her vision goes blurry as she sees nothing but darkness surrounding her. Everything seems to fade around her. She falls to the ground, clutching her stomach tightly as tears fall from her eyes silently.
