Moonlight Deception
The trees stood tall and silent, heavy with mist.
Stefan crouched in the shadows, his senses focused. Up ahead, a small wooden cottage glowed dimly, candlelight flickering inside. A girl’s laugh floated into the night.
He closed his eyes.
He hated this, he hated this so much.
He didn’t fear death. But he feared what he was becoming. Or maybe, what he already was.
A shadow moved.
Stefan sprang forward.
It was quick, the girl screamed, a young girl with white-blonde hair and eyes that flashed like her mother’s. She fought back surprisingly hard, sparks flying from her palms.
