The sound of the ripping parchment is loud in the silent hall. Julian flinches again. I fold the pieces together and tear them again. I keep going until the document is nothing but a handful of white scraps. I open my fingers. The white pieces flutter down to the marble floor. They land on Marcella’s damp skirt. They land on Julian’s polished shoes. “Three years ago, I was blind,” I say to him. “I thought love was a duty. I thought if I bled enough for your people, you would finally see me as a human being.”

A painting hangs beside his desk. I don’t know why it draws me in, but I find myself walking closer. Thick strokes of midnight blue and charcoal gray layer the canvas. In the center — barely visible unless you truly look — a thin streak of gold cuts through the darkness. Not bright. Not loud. Just there. A quiet fracture of light. It isn’t something you glance at. It’s something you feel. My fingers almost lift to touch the textured paint. Why would a blind man choose something so visual?

"Do you still not have enough for the surgery?" I paused mid-step as I changed my shoes. "Almost." "There's no need for it anymore," Evelyn suddenly said. "I can stay blind for the rest of my life, Matt. But I don't want to see you suffer like this." I froze for a moment, then replied evenly, "Alright." With only two days left until the bet was over, Evelyn was probably getting ready to dump me. She clearly didn't expect me to agree so easily. Caught off guard, she hesitated. "W-what?"

"What do you mean you don't understand what is happening?" Lydia asked the doctor. "Do you think what happened makes any sense? I mean, she said she went to the restroom, and when she was coming back, she didn't remember anything else again. Does any of that make sense? Think about it, she's was born blind, and even her father had consulted many experts ophathalmologist, but they couldn't do anything to help because that was how she was born. Now, all of a sudden, not only can she see, but she can see very clearly, she's seeing perfectly. The only theory I can conclude on for now is that her getting her sight back is a miracle." The doctor said.

He could not reach for his eyes with his hands so blinking became his only alternative. The more he tried to see the worse his vision became. After he had lost all hope, he began thinking that he had gone blind. In his present situation amidst problems with his sight, Sam began to cry. The huge figure came back into the room, walked up to him and wiped his tears away.

Since there are a lot of bad people out there anything can happen to a blind person such as being robbed. Many times Ria have always wished that she could see maybe just once. Her eyeballs are always opened but she couldn't see anything. Ria only relied on her sense of touch. She was born blind and she has learned what normal people usually did using her other senses especially the sense of touch. Usually disabled people would be discriminated from the rest of the society simply because they did thing much slower and people presumed that blind people could not do things that normal people could do as well. Ria could possibly prove that all these are not true.
