While Bo has a shining white head free of even a single strand of hair and a short thin (mostly gray) facial hair and smells like golden spice. Gray is standing on the left side of a semicircle made up of him, Cordelia and Bo, with cordelia being in the middle, a few yards just ahead of us. Gray’s holding a long thick metal link chain in his hands, conversing with the two. Iselyn and I stop a few feet away, just close enough to alert them to our presence and hear the conversation.

Inside, curled up amongst the jumper cables and spare tires is Bash, who blinks up into the sunlight at the both of us, his eyes wide with shock, his mouth open as if he were about to start yelling for help. He was in the middle of tapping on the trunk door, lying on his back with his feet and clawed fingertips in the air. “Finally!” he stretches and his claws retract as he reaches his arms out to be picked up. “I was thinking you’d never find me!”

CORALINA'S POV I can feel the weight of a thousand gazes, each one feeling like a jagged stone aimed at the red silk covering my skin. Brielle is panting, her eyes wild with the temporary high of a successful assassination. She thinks she has won. She thinks the "Gold-Digger" brand is permanent. I wait for the explosion. I wait for Clyde to unleash the terrifying, bone-shaking roar that defines the Shadow Alpha. But Clyde doesn't roar.

The chain was adjustable, allowing Aqua to wear the pendant at just the right length so that it rested over her heart. As she wore it, Aqua noticed the stone's clarity, reflecting her calm and balanced state of mind. Whenever she felt at peace, the pendant remained clear and pristine. However, when her emotions stirred, the pendant would change. A slight hue of blue appeared when she felt sadness, while a warm golden tone emerged during moments of happiness. If anger or fear took hold of her, the gemstone would darken, turning a deep, unsettling black.

She just stood there, though, shedding tears. Looking up, Briane clenched her fist. He closed his eyes for a moment, breathing in and out as calmy as he could to draw a big amount of energy. His body has been covered by yellowish light, which was the only thing Shiela could make out as Briane sprinted from the tents surrounding the stage and back again to the well.

Now it remembers you. Sienna’s mark flared white-hot. Pain seared up her arm. The light spilling from the shard enveloped her entirely, burning silver against the dawn. And then there was Brent.

Arman’s claws were slick with blood, Roshan’s teeth bared in a snarl as he held on, Shirin growling through pain as he refused to let go. We were all screaming—rage, pain, desperation—voices colliding in a chaos that felt endless. Then— A deafening blast erupted.
