“I'll be back before you blink.”
I blinked intentionally, and we both laughed.
“Hey,” he chuckled, knowing I was playing with him. His eyes thought for a second. “At least fifty blinks.”
“We'll see.”
“Don’t move from this spot, alright?”
“Where would I go?” I pushed at his chest for him to leave. “Come on. Go, and come back quickly. Don't leave me alone too long. See, I'm counting.” I pointed to my blinking eyes.
He chuckled again, shook his head at me, and teleported into thin air. I hugged myself, feeling the ache of his absence, and glanced up at the beautifully triple-ringed, silver moon.
