Blood On The Clocktower Bad Moon Rising Novels & Stories

“Like it’s calling my bones.” “It is,” Mara said quietly. She stood by the window, watching the treeline. “It’s older than you think. Older than any of us.” Caleb leaned over the map again, his fingers trembling. “It’s accelerating. The Blood Moon wasn’t supposed to peak for three nights. Now it’s rising early.” Silas looked up sharply. “How early?” Caleb swallowed. “Tomorrow night. Maybe sooner.” Silas’s jaw tightened. He glanced at Ava. “We’re out of time.”

The moon bled. Not a metaphor. In reality, it bled, dripping red into the dusk as if the sky had taken a punch it couldn’t shake off. Aria leaned over the edge of the old watchtower, fingers digging into the stone so hard her hands probably looked like bone claws. The moon above? It was wrong. Too big, too raw, spilling red where silver should’ve been. Like some cosmic crime scene, and everybody knew what that meant, wolves especially. Blood moon: you might as well shout “run,” because nothing stays the same after a night like this.

Michael was sprinting toward me, Lora close behind, her braid whipping behind her. “Andrew!” Michael yelled. “What now?” I muttered under my breath as they reached me. Lora skidded to a stop, her face pale. “It’s the blood moon.” “What?” I blinked. “It’s tonight,” she said, breathless. “The elders misread the last cycle. The moon rises red by nightfall.” “Shit,” I muttered, running a hand through my hair. “Are you sure?” “We checked three times,” Michael said. “It’s real.”

"Life goes on." He let her lead him away, walking like a man marching to the gallows, while his heart remained in the hallway with a girl carrying a basket of laundry. Night fell again. The moon rose over the castle towers. It wasn't a white moon. It was filled with a rusty red. The Blood Moon. Oreon saw it through the infirmary window. The deadline. His thirtieth birthday was days away. The Council would return. The wolves would circle. He didn't care.

It only got louder and louder like a heartbeat pounding in my ear. I felt fear but I didn't know why. I felt like waiting and crying but I couldn't open my mouth. "They are coming, its rising, your almost out of time," it cried louder in pain. The darkness blinked and the horrific image of dead bodies flashed before my eyes. They were laid out in a strange way, blood dripping from their bodies and into the soil…deep into the soil. Red eyes watched me from the shadows. "Their coming," I screamed as I jolted awake.

The only source of light was the luminous moon, its coruscating rays lending an air of mysticism. When the full orb of the moon reached its highest peak, Liam threw his head back and howled. A haunting tone, one that spoke of his loneliness, that spoke of regret, that wished with every breath for a companion, a tone that hid a melancholy, hoping that it would one day be answered by an equal. That would not be today. Today, all that answered his call were groans of pain and the gasps from the spectators gathered around. The kids were changing. Liam watched carefully, making sure each of the little ones was coming though alright. For some reason he had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.

It all points to a traitor’s hand. I pace the room, my boots thudding softly on the woven rug. The blood moon looms in less than two weeks, its crimson hunger a relentless drumbeat echoing in my veins. The Shadow Curse is a blade resting directly against Liora’s throat. Without the medallion, the ritual is shattered.

he sits me on his lap in the bath. “I love you, Wyatt, things will work out, I just couldn’t keep this from you,” guilt is eating at me even more than before. “I love you, my little wolf,” he kisses my forehead. “We have to get going soon baby, the Blood Moon is rising in approximately an hour,” Wyatt smiled. “Thanks for reminding me,” I growl, rolling my eyes. “That leaves me enough time to get your mind right back off of it,” he lifts me up out of the water, laying me flat on the cold tile floor, my ass at the edge of the tub where his face hovers over my pussy.

ELENA The final rays of the evening sun sank behind the jagged peaks of the Southern ridge, throwing the sprawling valley into an ominous, blood-red shadow. Through the massive glass-domed pavilion of the eastern conservatory wing, the cascading waterfalls no longer looked turquoise; they ran like a river of thick, glowing crimson, catching the initial light of the rising blood moon. The clock struck nine. Three hours remaining until the midnight apex.

“Gather the men and don’t make me repeat myself again.” “Fine! What’s the plan?” “We’re barging in tonight.” Dan's mouth gapes at the shocking revelation. “Tonight’s a full moon.” I completely shun him by saying, "Don't forget. I need all the men to gather in the underground parking lot at the office building at 6 PM. We'll attack half an hour before the moon rises. Incur a delay, and I will kill you."
