“Let go of me!” I snarled, wrenching my arm away.
I reached the deck. The wind was roaring into the house, the rain drenching the blueprints and the furniture. Toby was conscious, but he was bleeding from a dozen small cuts, his arm hanging at a wrong angle.
“Lisa… get back…” he wheezed.
I looked out into the dark. There were no black sedans. No men in suits. There was only a single, large drone hovering a hundred yards out over the water, a glowing blue orb at its centre—the acoustic emitter.
